Wow, I've never heard of this before.

Is there any way to check if it's already on your computer? I have no idea whether my laptop would be infected or not.

It'd be awesome if this was an April Fools Day joke thou- Oh, crap, tomorrow's April Fool's Day. I need my prank shield.

Microsoft patched the security hole it exploited in October so I'm not that worried.
If I get it then I guess I'll reformat.

I'm not worried about this. I don't see any way that this virus could have possibly gotten on my computer. And don't tell me I'm naive, since there's not much I can do about it anyway I'm just focusing on the small chance that I'll get it. Which is a change for me because usually I'm a nervous worrying wreck with serious things like this. I think my mind is actually blocking this out to protect me. I don't know what I would do if the virus actually got me though.

I'm not your pal, friend!

and indeed it is true, though if you have up-to-date antivirus then you should be fine. That's what it said on the Norton website

The main worry about Conficker is that it supposedly contains a keylogger which can capture all usernames, passwords, and personal information typed into website logins, including your banking, PayPal, Ebay, Amazon, email, etc.

Does this affect Macs?
No. Macs are not affected.

Just update your anti-virus software. And try rebooting in safe mode.

If you can't reboot in safe mode, you have it. Then try using your anti-virus to get rid of it.

Back everything up before hand, run system sweeps often. If you are really scared just don't boot up your computer, or just shut off your internet.

Sounds serious but idk, I'm not terribly worried.
