Configuring Gamepad?

I recently bought a Gametech gamepad for my PC in order to play Dark Souls, but I am having trouble configuring it to the game.
And my trouble, I mean; I can't find any configuration options for gamepads.

Please tell me there is a way to do this, and that they didn't just completely ignore this option.
If I am supposed to configure it outside the game, then what do I need to do? The product didn't come with any software except an USB-driver, and no read-me or instruction-table.

Are you sure it's a PC compatible gamepad? Some third party controllers aren't.

I read that you need to have the controller plugged in BEFORE launching Dark Souls for it to be recognized. That or you may want to try this [http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2905291].
