For being nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards.

Okay, he's actually nominated for one award (Outstanding Original Song in the Children's and Animation category), but he has two songs nominated from FiM, "Find a Pet" and "Becoming Popular".

Is this the first time MLP has been nominated for anything Emmy related? I can't remember.

The other songs that were nominated are from Dora the Explorer, Sesame Street, and two from Penguins of Madagascar.

What!? He wasn't nominated for this:

Ah well. Grats Mister Ingram, you deserve it! :3

They can only nominate songs from 2011. That episode was from 2012.

Considering the budget the show's made on, I'm actually very impressed it was considered for a daytime Emmy. This should be another big boost for the Hub after the viewing figures skyrocketed for the Season 2 finale. Although I'm quite surprised that either Art Of The Dress or At The Gala weren't nominated.

And next year, I'm absolutely certain This Day Aria will get nominated. That was Disney-quality.

Hope Becoming Popular wins. That's the superior song, IMO.

But otherwise, congrats Mr Ingram. You most certainly deserve it.

He deserves it! I hope Becoming Popular wins, it's hard to choose between the two though.

It might be a good idea to link both of the nominated songs in the OP.

Personally, I agree that of those two Becoming Popular is definitely the superior song, though

these two would deserve it even more, IMO.

In any case, pony threads get a link to the Escapist MLP user group:

If you join I recommend unchecking "Chat Notifications" when it prompts you as the group chat tends to be quite active.

Why wasn't he nominated for the winter wrap up song? I love that song.
Saying that find a pet is pretty awesome
EDIT:
Pinkie Pie says hoovsies! What else do you need for a nomination

Winter Wrap-up is certainly among the catchiest of the songs in the show, but I don't think it has a lot of substance to it. Fun to sing, but not award material.

Does he surf these forums? Cause if you are congratulating him wouldn't it make sense to do it in a place that he would actually see it.

The problem with those ones is that the category is original songs. Both of those had their tunes lifted from Broadway.

Just checked out the competition. Not worried too much about Penguins of Madagascar, but there are some big names and nice tunes in the other songs.

I read the title as being a rhetorical flourish. I doubt the OP expects Mr. Ingram to read this thread. The actual topic is discussion of the songs and their nomination.

Oh, that makes sense. I'm not happy about it, because I love those songs, but I understand at least.

"Find a Pet"? No idea why that one of everything he's made is there, but... Ok. I certainly do find "Becoming Popular" to be a lot better. I've never seen anyone tackle that style or genre of song with such gusto.
