I don't like it because it's not cooperative like L4D in the sense that you must rely on your other teammates or you absolutely WILL fail.
In Killing Floor, it's a game of L4D survival by yourself with 3 other people, if that makes sense.
This is dead wrong. I'd like to see you survive on harder difficulties with your teammates having their heads up their asses. lol
I think you would like Killing Floor if you liked L4D. It's more of the same type of thing except with a few nuances that are strictly true to Killing Floor:
- Monster wave survival : you don't try to get from 1 safehouse to the next while progressing through the level, instead you simply bunker down and survive waves of mutated monsters.
- Character classes : Killing Floor is a "Soft RPG" in a sense. Meaning that you will have several classes that you can choose to play as and they also gain experience and unlock new strengths and perks.
- Money : Yes, you make money, go buy nice shiny guns with it!
- Store : I said money, which means there is a store! Between waves, a store opens for about 2 mins or so (depends on difficulty I believe) where you can stock up on gear, ammo and weapons.
To some people, Killing Floor seems like a rip off of Left 4 Dead. I don't think it copies it that extensively. It does provide it's own formula that makes it stand apart enough to make it look, feel and play differently and give you a new play experience.
