I recall when I first played the xbox and they had a control many many people hated. I loved it I could hold it without having to bend or lace my fingers together. Than they stopped making them because nobody like them; that hurt my feelings.
Finally, I am not alone! I have average-sized hands, but I still love that controller so much.

I'm not a big guy. When I do the pen test it reaches to the last joint of my index finger (that's still long-ish).

I still loved the old XBox controller. It was comfortable. It had the right heft for shooty games, too. My hands look like they fit nicely around the 360 controller but it's actually kinda uncomfortable to use, forcing me to keep my fingers bent just a bit more than I naturally want to. I could swear I didn't have this issue with the dinky PS2 controllers somehow. (Maybe because PS2 games used the triggers less?)

Mostly I hate how much modern controllers cost given how little they actually do.

I just realised that I forgot to list my Number One Most Hated controller; the Intellivision's d-pad+membrane-keyboard hellbox. *shudder* Not uncomfortable usually, but hellishly imprecise.

What the heck is a membrane keyboard?

If you don't know already, your ignorance is a blessing.

Seriously, it's a "keyboard" that's a sheet of slick plastic with some slightly raised bumps on it. You input by squishing the bumps down with a hard finger-press and hoping it triggers a contact underneath... but the only way to tell if it worked is to watch, character by character, to see if it did. And that it registered only once per squish.

Not the best interface for a fast-paced environment like gaming.

Think of a microwave keypad.
