"Console gaming is better because it just works"... still a valid argument?

Well I think PC gamers have lives, but let's face it, a lot of them are elitists. I've rarely heard console gamers all up in PC gamers' faces about it, but for one reason or another, a lot of PC gamers feel the need to proclaim their preference and put down the consoles every chance they get. Not all, but a lot.

Beyond that, the reasons I prefer consoles are as follows:

1) I simply prefer a controller to a mouse and keyboards for most genres.

2) I tend to care more about console-exclusive games than PC exclusive games. Most of them just don't interest me that much.

3) I don't need to mess with hardware. It has nothing to do with bugs or anything, I just like that I can get a game, put it in, and it will work to its highest capacity.

Really, it has nothing to do with the reasons stated by the OP.

The only thing I hate about computers is you can't have a split screen to play with friends. I prefer them because I can play on my monitor with a mouse and keyboard or I can put the game on my TV and play with a usb controller. Which controls I used is based on the genre of game (such as keyboard and mouse for FPS and controller for platforming).

I call bullshit. $1000 difference? what the hell are you buying, a mac? My 600$ PC keeps up with the 600$ PS3. and you never have to upgrade a console? so you're playing PS3 games on your nes? Bleeding edge is only there for those that want it, for everyone else there's the graphics settings. As for the final point, plug a controller into your PC, problem solved.
Ps3. $299.

HP Pavillion HPE 180-te. $1,019.99

But then, the ps4, should it come out, probably costs about six hundred, so...

ps3 then the ps4 upgrade down the road, comes to about 900 dollars.

Is that HPE gonna play all the new games for that whole period of time?

No?

Am I going to have to upgrade anything on it?

Yes?

Yeah.

Yeah.
Your problem is that you're purchasing a pre-built PC. I absolutely guarantee I could build a stronger tower than that HP for roughly $450-600, and I can also guarantee it would last a good 4-5 years before it required any heavy upgrades.

Yes, though perhaps not for those reasons.

I interpret it as "You don't have to worry about system specs", which is still entirely valid.

We've all seen console elitists putting down PC gamers so often on these forums. "Oh PC gamers are elitists with no lives" .
I had to stop there. WTF? On these forums console gamers get called childish, stupid, lower class, ignorant, and basically anything that means your a lower form of existence, but because of a few people standing up for the console community you feel the need to make it a point to call them out on it? Unfair much?

OT: Well, yes and no, for the Xbox community, I feel the Xbox has far too much problems for it to be legit, but the PS3 isn't nearly as bad the PC or the Xbox, but again its questionable. However, I've not heard any kind of problems from the Wii, so for the Wii alone, it still a fairly valid point.
A few people? Dude it's the damn majority. These PC gamers who apparently call console gamers lower class and such... I have yet to see any of them. For some reason PC gamers are automatically labelled elitist pricks on these forums.

Well, if thats the case things must have changed here recently because last month I saw a forum where PC gamer were calling shit on console gamers, and not just a few PC gamers, no, at least a good 20. If I could remember the forum I'd link it. I don't like getting in these battles cause I play on both PC and Console, but on here I've noticed more PC gamers than Console.

I just prefer console games because I always end up feeling that it would cost more to keep up to date with PC mods. I want to play my games the way they were meant to be played more or less. Sure you can get Better preformance out of pc games, but I would rather rent console games and save the money. Besides consoles seem to set the curve for games to be made on you get more demanding games on pc, but the rest are on console too and don't look half bad for machines 5 years old.

Yeah, games have problems whether they're on PC or console. I do use both, but I've found PC to be better for most games. I think controllers work better for fighter games, and racing games. But I find the PC setup works better for FPS, RTS and RPG's. Which is mostly what I play, so go figure. But the wars are obsolete by now, if they weren't to begin with.
