I've been poking around and I've noticed that a lot of people have had issues with their consoles breaking down...is it really that bad? I mean I'm a console player, I've had my xbox 360 for years and I've never had any problems with it. I bought the Elite does that have something to do with it? Is the xbox really a train wreck and am I just lucky?

The first run Pro's were horrible. The major problem was resolved by the time the elites were released and other problems have been rectified since with the 360S.

But yes, it really is/was that bad.

Well considering people have had around 7-9 xbox 360 (according to them)

So yes they seems to suck a bit.

Out of curiosity, how many 360 systems have you had? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.336272-Out-of-curiosity-how-many-360-systems-have-you-had?page=1]

My original 360 died within a year; my PS3's bluray lens burnt out earlier this year courtesy of Fallout: New Vegas' many, many crashes.

On a sidenote, I remember being told by the bloke in the shop where I got my new Xbox that Microsoft sidestepped the RRoD flaw by removing the red LED in the new consoles. Anyone got any idea if this is true or just one of those stupid myths?
