So, like in my other thread about the GBA, here you can share your most cherished PSX memories.

Well, I didn't grow up with a PS, but I have played a handful of PSX titles.
RE1-3
Silent Hill
SotN
PSX port of FF4

I also got one from a yardsale for $15, so I have the system, but never use it.

What are your memories of the system?

My memories of the PS1?

...The center part of the disc drive (with the bearings in it) splitting into thirds and rendering the entire system useless. ..happened 4 times.

Ah playstation...

My cousin through it down the stairs so to play it we had to keep the lid open and hold the sensor up with a screw driver inside...<.<

Firstly, I must ask where the "PSX" convention comes from. It took me a while to figure out that it means PS1 and I was genuinely confused before that.

Anyway, Spyro trilogy was basically all I played for several years. I regret nothing.

EDIT: Forgot Hot Wheels Turbo Racing! Epic racing game with loads of cool shortcuts... and metallica.

Everything I played on the PS1 I thought was a gem.

Megaman X 1-5
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (the very first game I ever decided to replay over and over again just to marry someone different XD)
Final Fantasy IX
Crash Bandicoot
Twisted Metal
Spyro the Dragon
In the Hunt = awesome game that me and my friends played over and over again so many times XD

PSX was unofficial I believe, so blame people. The actual PSX is a DVR version of the PS2.

Spyro, Rampage, and Croc.

The whole time I was playing them, I thought, "WOW! This is beautiful! NOTHING could top THIS!"

Well, I'm interested as to why he threw it down the stairs in the first place.
You beat him real bad or something?

He was playing Crash Bandicoot racing and he couldn't beat one of the boss characters...<.<

I have so many good memories of that console...
Jumping Flash to FF7 to Chrono Cross to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Crash Bandicoot, not to mention the last game I played on it when it died, Frogger.

My and my friend were in a very intense Frogger competition, she was challenging my thrown (I'm unbeaten) and she was really close to beating me in the mechanical mayhem stage. I fell off the edge and hit jump while pulling my controller towards me as if it could feel my desperation and by some miracle jump back up and not die. Anyways when I did that I pulled the PS off the shelf and it didn't survive the fall. However because that game was interrupted my friend didn't beat me so my title still stands. Still I have the giant gray block of plastic in the back of my closet, I'm thinking about hanging it on my wall as a decoration.

Ah, so many happy memories of that console.

FF VII, Crash Bandicoot games, the Spyro games, Hogs of War, various football games, Tomb Raider, all the Tony Hawk's...it was a great console that never failed once. Sadly we lost it in moving house so I'll never be able to play those games again. :(

And I loved the 8 in 1 memory cards that cost about £5. Damn, those things were awesome.

I have a lot of great memories with the original Playstation, all of which I can sum up in one video.
That. I hear it, and it's like I'm back in time.
