What home consoles did you own and play actively during their heyday? And which games were your favourite for each?

1 - NES (Super Mario Bros. 3)
2 - N64 (GoldenEye 007; Super Mario 64; Conker's Bad Fur Day; Paper Mario)
3 - DC (Shenmue)
4 - Xbox (Shenmue II; Sid Meier's Pirates!; Grand Theft Auto III; Jade Empire)
5 - Wii (Super Mario Galaxy)

1. Snes (Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia)
2. N64 (Banjo Kazooie, Star Fox 64)
3. Playstation (Final Fantasy Tactics, Strider 2)
4. Gamecube (MSG: Ace Pilot, F-Zero GX)
5. Playstation 2 (Shadow of the Colossus, Devil May Cry 3, God Hand, and way too many others.)
6. Nothing, because I'm not buying a new console until one of them can prove to me they're more fun than having a garbage truck back into my room and dump trash on my bed.

SNES - ActRaiser, Mario Collection, StarFox, Donkey Kong stuff
N64 - Mario 64, Perfect Dark (til it crashed on me, was one of those rare awesome games)

1) Sega MegaDrive 2 (Sonic the Hedgehog 3+Sonic and Knuckles attached)
2) PS1 (MGS1, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Armoured Core: Masters of the Arena or FFVII at the time)
3) PS2 (ZoE1, ZoE2, MGS2, MGS3, Resi 4, GTA: SA)
4) Xbox (Halo (FLAME ON!), Jet Set Radio Future, Timesplitters 2)
5) Gamecube (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Soul Calibur 2, SSBM)
6) Wii (SSBB, Okami, Twilight Princess)
7) Xbox 360 (Fable 2 fairly recently, Cod4, Bioshock)
And soon...
8) PS3

And PC pretty much from PS1 onwards.

Didn't include handhelds in there as I couldn't name many games for them that stuck out for me, gone from GBC->DSLite every step of the way though. Not a great fan of the PSP on the whole, though I do have one I pick up every now and again. I dipped into the N64 for a while but it wasn't actually mine and I only played it once every few months or so. Loved Mario 64 and SSB though.

Excuse me, but I just have to express my complete and utter contempt and hatred for Morgan Webb and all of X-Play. I hate X-Play twice as much as Yahtzee hates anything.

Katamari's still a good game, though I never liked Donkey Kong anything nearly as much as a lot of people did. Sure, the first one was good, but the games became frustratingly difficult after it (and it's not like the original DK Country was all that easy to begin with.)

PS1 - Crash Bandicoot series
PS2 - Ratchet and Clank series
Xbox - Halo 1
Xbox 360 - Shadowrun/Bioshock
PSP - Killzone Liberation
PC - Half Life 2 and its various mods (zombie master is probably my favourite mod)

I know loads of people think shadowrun was lame but I enjoyed it based on the fact that it is perfectly balanced.
