Czekamy.
I'll try to translate it.

We have a very sad news for you all. Our source informs us that the console version of The Witcher has been deleted and it will not be released. Additionally, many people at CD Projekt have been fired. These informations are not sure, but we have already contacted with CD Projekt regarding the confirmation. We hope it isn't true. I was really hoping to see this game. You must admit it looked very well. Anyway, we'll wait for the official statement.

Update: We have the first reply from CDP Red:

At the moment we are not commenting the news. We want to answer them in the right way, which will happen very soon.

More or less, if you trust a Native Pole.

More news. Sorry for double post, but it might be unreadable.

Apparently the project has been put on hiatus and all of the people working on it have been moved to the team working on The Witcher 2. They also say that while the chances for 2 games at the same time are slim, because the waiting time for the console version would be too long, there is a chance that the updated Witcher game will come out on the Xbox as soon as it's on the consoles.

Those are still just speculations and unconfirmed informations.

Damn. My computer is too trashy to play this game (or any game, for that matter), so I was really looking forward to grabbing this for the 360.

Guess I didn't really need another RPG anyway... but I had heard a lot of good things.

BTW, thanks for translating the press releases, Abedeus.

I?ve been craving this game for donkey?s years (well, since it was released. No idea what that is in donkeys) but my computer refuses to run anything better then civilization four.

I hope this is just a rumour, if it isn?t, then it?s going to be a long time before I'm able to play this game.

Don't mention it. Happy to translate other polish news.

Also, you should try downloading the Updated Version, 2GB of improvements. There is also one for lowering the requirements for RAM and CPU usage. It optimizes the code, so weaker PCs can finally run the game.

That was hyperbole, in fact the inventory system, alchemy, magic and combat it's incredibly intuitive, it may just appear daunting at first because of the comprehensive manual.

If it has been cancelled, I'm guessing it may have something to do with the mature content and rating system.

It's mature content may have been pushing the game into the realms of an AO rating on the consoles (something that both Microsoft and Sony won't allow) and they, or the publisher may have demanded that it be watered down, so that it could get an M or even a T rating.

Because the content is key to the setting and the world of the novels, the developers may have been unwilling to cut out the 'heart and soul' of the game for a console release, as it wouldn't be doing the story or IP any justice.

In the US the original was rated M, and even then only after it had been heavily censored, so I can imagine an uncensored, true to the original European release, console version being rated AO even refused classification for the console market.

I've got a notion that PC games can still get away with more sex, violence and bad language than console games, because they are view more as adult applications, whereas console and console games are still view as 'toys for kids' by a lot of people.

true most pc games are most likely more complex than console games. it reminds me of fallout 3 it is good as hell game ,but i hated the first 2 to 3 hours of it. i just wanted to heal myself but starting the game up and finding a bed took 3 hours. i found a free bed shortly later. what i trying to say is once you learn the system its extremely fun. The console makers are more strict with sex and violence.

Nothing special was lost in my opinion. The game looked ok on PC, but I can't shake the feeling that it's going to suck on consoles.

Sad face, I've heard such good things about this game, I was really looking forward to playing it, hopefully it will make it out eventually.
