Before I begin I want you to now that I'm a neat person to the point where it gets obsessive. My computer, console (PS3 and PS2) and other electronic products in general were free of any dust or filth. I used to look at many internet forums and see people complain and joke about how ridiculous the RROD and the YLOD are getting. I was aware of the problem, but I couldn't really talk about it, because I thought it could NEVER happen to me, hence my cleaning.

Well, a few days ago, disaster stuck and my PS3 has become useless. My friend used to have the exact same thing but he smokes an entire Marlboro factory in a week, so I thought that was the problem, since I don't smoke. Sony repaired his PS3 for 200 euro's (that 260 dollars for you Americans!) and six months later, he had the same issue. He then bought a PS3 Slim. I'm hearing more and more complaints about broken consoles and that the Slim version is even worse than the original PS3.

So, what I'm saying here is, with all these RROD's for the X360's and the YLOD's for the PS3, why hasn't anyone seriously complained about this? These are very expensive products and I remember the PS2, which I had since it launched in my country. I just booted it up and it runs perfectly. I mean, aren't multi-billion dollar company's like Sony supposed to improve upon their previous product? It feels as if they're pissing on us and we, as gamers, take it for granted.

Oh well, I know I wrote and ranted much more than I thought I would but it's just something I wanted to get out.

RROD has always been a serious problem. Everyone complains, Microsoft does fuck all. PS3s rate of failure is not even close to that of the 360s.

I seem to recall many people complaining about the RROD. You know, to the point where Microsoft extended the warranty and offered to fix every single one for free.
Yeah, RROD isn't much more than a small inconvenience now. You send in a ticket and wait for them to send you a pre-paid package stamp, you then send it to them. They fix it and you get a free month of XBL gold...

As long as your console is less than 3 years old you're covered with the RROD warranty.
