I won't be getting Modern Warfare 2... The whole Call of Duty series is massively overrated, and to be honest there are much better games coming out.
\it's your lucky day as they are no longer in the call of duty franchise

Yeah it is, actually. "Call of Duty" is very small on the cover, but it's there.

Anyways, I'd go for the 360. Less hackers and (it seems) more players.

They changed the box art recently.

I get the same feeling of superior fun.
when you're on the PC, you feel lonely and come off faster
on a console, it's so much more addictive.
(and you hurt your eyes less)

Anything a console does a PC can do just as well. Most of the time it's better, actually.

As far as FPS's go a keyboard and mouse is usually the winning combo for me. I lean towards Pc's when it comes to them. On avg tends to be better online communities as well.

Why not my friend plays diablo 2 on a controller in bed you dont have to be confined to a desk.
Good point, well made.

In fact I've done the same thing hooking up a PS3 controller to my PC, but I was making the point that generally that's not the way PC's are played, besides most people don't have a sofa in front of the're PC as well as a controller for it (not that they're hard to get).

Well for Diablo 2 a laptop is more than capable, hooking up to a tv only requires a HDMI cable.

Weirdly, having tried the newer C&C games on both 360 and PC, I went and bought the 360 version (because it was less hassle than upgrading my PCs now pitifully inadequate hardware.)

As such I now fall into the category of the person who plays certain games on certain machines, Locomotion and Neverwinter on the PC, for example, while I play COD, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Assassins Creed on the 360.

My main argument against the 'shooters are better with keyboard and mouse' whingers is that while that may occasionally be the case, I still hold that shooters are far better running at full graphics and full speed where I can actually see my opponents and target them without having to wait for the game to catch up to the input method. My personal combat record on PC vs 360 versions of Call of Duty helps attest to this fact.

More now though, if a game I want to play isn't available on 360, I'll get it on PC and muddle through, but the good news there is some of the better, more hardware intensive PC only games of the past few years are getting console versions very soon, such as Witcher.

That's interesting... The one on the official website just says Modern Warfare 2, but one on Amazon says "Call of Duty".

Hm. Well, now I'm thoroughly confused.

But for the price of a console you can build a perfectly capable gaming machine. Sorry that you chose a 360 instead.

Despite having a laptop in which I could play PC games on I won't, frankly because a controller seems much more comfortable to me than a mouse and keyboard. I can't picture myself gaming on my laptop for hours just as I do on my PS3 and later on the 360.

Also the most important reason as to why I would prefer games on consoles rather than PCs is framerate issues. Seriously consoles are specifically designed to run games so you get little to no framerate issues at all, but many games I've seen on the PC always seem to start lagging every now and then. Long ago I played Doom 3 for the PC and the framerate dropped during the ship landing in the hangar cutscene, but this didn't occur to me on the Xbox 1.

Also I would definitely get MF 2 for the 360.

Why be sorry? At least I can play a new game straight away when I get home from work without having to install it first, have a reliable online hub system for playing my friends when I want to and don't have to worry about registration codes and anti-piracy downloads. Consoles are just a whole lot easier these days, for next to zero difference in quality of anything, and I'm mainly in it for the gameplay regardless, so I'd prefer a game to just work rather than having to tweak settings and update drivrs to get it the best it can be (call me lazy if you like).

Basically, I did the math. For the price of a 360 and more than half of the catalogue I own that isn't availale on PC anyway, I'd still not have enough to beef up my PC sufficiently to run Crysis on full spec (and would be better off buying a whole new PC in the first place). Besides which, having owned the 360 since launch, only once upgrading for the HDMI slot after the price of the Pro dropped (and my hard drive was full), I have considerably more practice with it.

I'm not 'anti' PC gaming, quite the opposite in fact, but while I have 3 or 4 games that run at snails pace on my laptop or desktop PC, I do not have the same problem with a console.

The main point here though is that the control pad has been refined a great deal over the past few years, games like CoD and Halo work fine on one without the feeling of 'damn, I wish I had a keyboard and mouse for this'. I've played Halo: Combat Evolved on PC and yes, it works, as does Soldier of Fortune 2, Deus Ex and a whole bunch of others. I'm not baiting rabid PC fans here with a simple point of view (ok, I did call them 'whingers', but at least that has some truth to it) just stating my own view on the situation.
