"What is with Americans' obsession with Area 51 anyways?"
well the thing is, why would the govenment be protecting it so strongly, if you go over the border of it, you ARE going to be shot in the face by a sniper.

And the reason why americans attach so many theorys to it is because it is the only interesting thing we have here.

I don't beleive many of them, but some of the alien theorys i beleive.
I live not too far from Area 51, along with several other military bases. They are all protected strongly. You don't know half of the hell you have to go through just to even drop someone off at the base. Unless you have a military ID or a damn good reason for being there (backed up by the paperwork to prove it) you are not getting in. The only reason why most aren't all on a "shoot on sight" basis is because they are too damn close to civilian zones unlike Area 51 which is surrounded by... well nothing. A quick Google Earth search will show it surrounded by desert and what looks like bomb testing sites.

But here's my real point: Out of ALL the plausible reasons why Area 51 is so uptight, why out of any conceivable reason does it have to be fucking aliens. There's no "well, it could be this". No, as soon as some drunk asshole gets his jeep shot out for being too close, everything defaults to aliens.

Where the hell did this start anyways? Too many bad 70s comic books? Retarded rednecks who confused "sleep paralysis" with "alien abduction"? A blurry photograph and/or a crudely faked video of an alien autopsy?

Paul is dead.
All the clues point to it.
Just look at the sergeant pepper album cover.
Or listen to revolution #9 backwards.
It all makes perfect sense.
Paul is dead.
'Nuff said.

-the royal family is secretly a family of shapeshifting alien reptiles that rules the world.
-the early middle ages never happened, and the king who supposedly ruled at that time was a fictional character.

yeah, i still cant find the site i got these from. they are pretty weird anyway, and that's what matters.

You know, out of all the crackpot conspiracies, that's the one that seems to be the most valid. I think it's well within the ability of the biggest band in the world to replace one of their members with a lookalike, if not just to propagate their fame. Two italian scientists even did facial studies and came to the conclusion that it's a good possibility that the Paul McCartney photographed int 1966 and the Paul photographed after the alleged death are not the same person, although i don't know how much i'd believe them..

Because it's a military base... That will happen everywhere. More so there because it's so secluded if sort of obvious your up to no good.

Don't go near pidgeons... the Government puts cameras in their heads, so they can read your mind. And if one shits on your shoulder, it means you're marked for arrest. If one shits on your [i/]head[/i], you're marked for murder.

I dont believe it really. I just figured this would be a good conspiracy theory to put up here for everyone to enjoy. But yeah, it is possible that they could have replaced paul. doubtful, but possible.

I always like Ickes's secret-Lizard-people one. It seems like it would make a cool premise for a novel.

Most conspiracy theories are easily disproven when you dissect and analyze them.

theories about the JFK assassination, the moon landing and 9/11 quickly fall apart when questioned

A CHINESE MOON CITY!...sorry, I was channeling the spirit of Frankie Boyle

What about McCarthyism and the Reds Under the Bed conspiracy. I think it's an interesting one

the moon is a conspiracy...

Not really. What, you thought I was serious?

i think a lot of these conspiracy stories come from a desire for the world to be more fantastic than it is, like alot of far-out mysticism stuff.
Actually that is one. [http://www.revisionism.nl/Moon/The-Mad-Revisionist.htm]

As for me: Everyone knows the lizard people are really a cover conspiracy of the bird people from plant X so that one does not count.

I would have to go with the chemtrails. I like conspiracy theories, last one I really looked into was this one. Not that most of them are really separate. To answer the nagging question of "why would they do that?" the theorists always go back to saying it is part of the New World Order. I always have to wonder if they already control the world to the point they can secretly kill billions around the world what are they aiming for? I figure they got all the power they are going to get already.

I think the 9/11 and the moon landing theories are the top two stupidest things. Even Adam Savage (from the mythbusters) has said it's rediculous, and as for the moon landing hoax... well, that's just silly.

There are to many ridiculous conspiracy theories to count. The most ridiculous ones that I've heard and actually argued with people about in the moon-landing conspiracy theory and the 9/11 insider job conspiracy theory.

BTW, the Buzz Aldrin punch was awesome.

There is a theory that Europe is trying to establish a new Roman Empire and allow the Anti-Christ to rule them. Europeans hate America because Bush refused to go along with this plan, ruining their chances. Obama either is the anti-Christ or will allow the anti-Christ to appear because of his relation with Europe.

Break this down logically
1. I don't think Europe actually wants to be ruled by the anti-Christ
2. They hate Bush because he is an idiot
3. Obama is not the anti-Christ, he's a smart, rational individual that doesn't want the world to hate us
4. A second Roman Empire would be a good thing. Stuff might actually get done.
