Starting a project to make some practice sabers (Lightsabers)
I have a basic idea in my head, have some long hard plastic poles, then wrap the blade portion in some sort of cushion. Using something to thicken the handle area.
I am expecting the blade to be about 1meter long (40 inches).
Does anyone have experience constructing such a thing? What would you recommend for the inner portion? What sort of cushion should I look for? How should I bond them?
Also, would there be an issue with stability in length in regards to the inner portion?
I need something that will hold up under a good thwacking. Who better to ask then the geniuses at the Escapist...people here seem to know everything.
