Contemplating a PSP...

No, not the PSPgo, I'm not crazy...

Retailers have been putting up some pretty good deals on the older PSP now, and I was wondering if anybody thought that this was a good deal;

Buy it! I'm already set on buying one when my birthday comes in about a month, and Dissidia is one of the first and main games I'm going to get.

Dissidia with GTA, all the better. I played through Vice City Stories, and I liked it alot. It lasts for a long time, and if you're the right kind of person, then you're going to love them.

About Dissidia I can't say, but it's Final Fantasy, it's an action-RPG, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it.

Also, the upcoming Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is reason enough to buy a PSP.

My girlfriend just upgraded her phone contract at the Carphone Warehouse, they chucked in a PSP (Slim and Lite) and 4 games for free!!!
I was contemplating buying one last week - then I get one for free - win win!! The only game they gave with it worth keeping, was Tekken - DR. But now I can get MGS Peace Walker!!!

Get a PSP1000 or 2000 and install a modified firmware (I'm not sure if you can do it on the 3000, but it's been a while since I checked for new firmware).

As long as it's not the Go!, you can get Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Portable Ops, Metal Gear Acid, Kingdom Hearts birth by sleep, Valkyrie profile remake, Monster hunter freedom, Resistance: Retribution, Popolocrois, God of War Chains of Olympus (which I really liked, even though I don't like the God of War franchise), and a fun little fairly unknown action RPG called Gurumin.
So... I think a PSP is worth getting.

I enjoyed portable ops. It's the distant sequel to snake eater. The storyline's good. Capturing enemy units can get tedious, and the controls take some adjusting to, but it's just like any other Metal Gear game.
You're not immediately awesome at it.

Hell its fun, i got bored of mine, i just play it on bus rides or in bed now. Easy to upgrade and add software via USB, which saves alot of money and opens alot of new features for it.

[sub]just don't drop it.. i did with mine and the back came off, but it still works, i just have to press the UMD on the back and let the magnet hold it on instead of sliding it into its slot. [/sub]

Personally, I'd wait a few months.

Sony are bound to out the PSP2 soon enough, probably at next year's CBIT or E3
