Hybrid Heaven.... oh the horror and the pain.

Recently, the final boss in Prototype, giving "pulling powers out of his ass" a brand new meaning. Great game otherwise.

The ending of Fallout 3... I mean, come on! I invested THAT many hours getting all the quests and stuff together for such an IDIOTIC and shitty ending?

Unfortunately you can't throw a wiimote when it is strapped to your wrist, so i simply turned the console off.

So that's why they make you strap the controllers to your wrist. I did wonder why they pushed it so hard.

OT: I agree with Super Smash Bros Brawl and that parts of Mirror's Edge can get exceedingly frustrating, but perseverance can at least get you through (if only on luck) in those two games.

At the moment I'm having serious trouble beating one of the bosses in Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (It wins my personal award for most character deaths in the one place). There's a seriously annoying timing sequence you have to succeed at three times (with the wiimote in my case)... Warrior within never gave me this much trouble. Grrr. I actually wish it would turn into an overblown anime sequence with big sword and hero who can jump insane distances in bullet time.

Which boss is this? From my knowledge, Rival Swords is a complete port of two thrones to the wii. I should know the boss.
I might even have some tips for you.

Well, in the cutscene before the fight the prince says "This thing was once a man, he was there when Kaileena died."
I think his name is Klompa. Anyway, he's pretty big, so you have to climb the walls so you can stab him in the eyes (after stabbing him on the shoulder and the hand).

Quite a lot of moments in Prototype. Most of the later missions made me want to throw my laptop out of the window. Still love the game though

Fffffffuuuuuuck your heat-seaking missiles, annoying strike teams, and artillery fire that knocks me off of buildings.

Furthermore: That mission where you have to destroy like 12 helicopters that are running away from you.

Not fun.

That one wasn't too bad for me. The moments that really made me swear were
- When you have all your powers taken away
- when you have to try and get into one of the boss's tanks, with helecopters knocking you off every time you try, and an instant fail if the tank gets blown up. Which it does. Repeatedly.
- Having to take out all the bloodtox pumps...dear god.
- Mother. Just...Aaaaaaaaargh.
- Any time in the late game when a strike team gets called in if you do so much as break a window.
- Protecting the main Bloodtox pump from two leader hunters at the same goddamn time

There. That about does it. Oh, wait, and...

- Trying to infiltrate a base with about 10 bloody viral detectors surrounding the place. I know you can sabotage them but one wrong move and...aargh...*chews on keyboard*

Seconded. I liked Prototype, but seriously, the developers should have worked on the difficulty and balance a bit more.

That said, the Star Destroyer level, the Star Destroyer level, the gods-damned Star Destroyer level in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

I have to bring down a Star Destroyer? Fine, my character's strong enough in the Force. I have to bring it down while under fire by a half a dozen TIE fighters? Eh, it's not like I have a choice...right? I have to bring it down WHILE under fire AND suffering from the EXTREMELY poor controls involved on the Xbox 360 version? AND the Star Destroyer swings right back into place seconds later if you don't move it right?

GOOD GOD, that level sucked. It singlehandedly ruined the game for me, and I even checked online for help on bringing the Star Destroyer down, and it didn't help! Thanks to that, I couldn't finish the game. Thanks, LucasArts. Really.

You see my post? I had the same experience. I can cope with being knocked down by the most harmless of grunts, Or the endless combos against me, But that boss made me RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

I don't throw my controllers, but, a moment where I'd want to is when my friend keeps on grabbing the rocket launcher in The Conduit, and says through his phone that he has so much skill. Yes, it takes a true mastermind to shoot a rocket when you're a couple feet away from me.

The rail shooter sequence in Jak 2 on the strip mine. Also the rail shooter sequence in Jak 3 when you defend spargus city.

As much as I respect Naughty Dog, if they put rail shooter sequences in uncharted 2, they're on my list.

I dont remember the one in Jak 2, but the one in Jak 3 was a complete pain in the ass.

They give you like...what, one previous chance to use the turret near the start of the game, then at the end they give you a hard sequence with it.

Made me angry, but its a lot easier to do now.

I've got two moments that come to mind:

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
The first fight with Dante. After getting killed for the 7th time, I calmly sat back and threw my PS2 controller on the floor. Save for some rattling and having to push in a segment of the device, it escaped serious damage

Heavenly Sword
The game's final boss was so frustratingly ridiculous (its difficulty spike puts Psychonauts to shame) that not only did I throw my controller into the hall, but put the game disc back in its case and threw it down the hall for good measure. And to complete this saga of nerd rage, I wrote the developers a stern, yet polite email about this horrible experience.

When playing Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy the game glitched into unplayability. In a rage I threw my controller at my Gamecube. Both survived, but my memory card didn't. RIP Animal Crossing files...

Shellshock 2, the final part of the final level where you have to fight all of the zombies in the one area. There was not enough ammo to kill all of them, and they were very fast. It took me atleast 50 tries before I got it.

At the final level of Wolverine: Uncaged, when Deadpool decides to hit the fuck you button and blast you off the nuclear tower.

Learning how to play Metal Gear for the first time. I'm usually pretty calm while playing a game, but that game just pissed me off. No game is more in need of a tutorial, the only thing they tell you how to do is crouch. Unfortunately once I figured out how to play, it became almost like a cake walk and eerily similar to a very good and engrossing movie.

OT: Okay, well I was playing Scarface The world is yours on X-Box, and I had gotten to a place where I couldn't do anything without dieing and it started to piss me off. One time it look like Id actually win, I was almost out of the cops rang with a great drug score, then. ..

Car swerved into me.

Cop caught me.

Controller smashed onto floor.

Game got to fuck off.

I've got two rather old ones:

Jak 2: you have to ride this jet-thing through a tunnel. Full of obstacles. At high speed. Which turns a lot, so you can't actually see the obstacles. And you die on the second hit. Oh, and did I mention that you get SHOT AT? Like, constantly? Basically the only way to do that was by memorising the enite course.

The other one was God of War II. While the game had quite a few frustrating moments (still, love it, though), the worst was at the end. After fighting Zeus for a while (the hell with spoilers) and wiping out his health, an unskippable cutscene-- everyone's favourite!-- begins. It's maybe a minute long, and end by turning into a quicktime event, like most of the boss battles in the God of War games. Obviously enough, it's pretty hard. Anyway, after sitting through that cutscene about a dozen times (yeah, I suck) I FINALLY managed to beat him. Another cutscene started. Say, did I mention I was living in Bangladesh at the time? The power went out.

I got around to finishing the game (which you just lost, btw) about a month later, when I'd recovered.
