In light of the new Marvel vs Capcom and Street Fighter vs Tekken games and thinking back on Super Smash Bros., it got me thinking; what if crossover were made for other genres besides fighting games?

What if we had action games, like God of War/Devil May Cry (Brutalitiy meets insanity!), or shooters like Metal Gear/Team Fortress 2 (Clash of the Crazy Weapons!), or platformers like Mario Bros/LittleBig Planet (Makes as much sense as anything else in either series.) or something else?
Or what other fighting games would be awesome, like Mortal Kombat vs King of Fighters, or Tekken vs Killer Instinct, or ect.
What crossover would you make?

Simple Rules;
-Don't bash other peoples ideas. Don't like their idea? Top it with your own.
-Make it plausible. Or if the combination makes no sense at first, make it make sense to us. This is an optional rule, and the last rule overrides this one.
-Plot is optional. Let's face it, most crossovers have no real plot anyway.
-You can use more than two series.
-Try to explain why. If the reason is 'Because it would be awesome!', explain WHY it would be awesome.
-It doesn't have to be restricted to video games. Let your imagination run wild! You want Batman meeting up with Sherlock Holmes going head-to-head over title of best detective? Go ahead. You want Sephiroth teaming up with Voldimort to try and make a giant Snake-meteor? Say so! You want Elmo to go on a killing spree with Travis Touchdown? Let us know!

Let the insanity begin!

A Devil May Cry and Bayonetta crossover.
Simply because they were both created by the same person (Well, Devil May Cry 1 and Bayonetta were made by the same person actually)
It could work, they could some how team up or fight against each other, usual cross-over like game play. And because Dante needs some better love.

Pokemon and world of warcarft. It would pretty much be a pokemon mmo with orcs. Also the world would implode from the amount of ragequitting.

A good crossover fighting game would be 'Konami vs. Capcom', in a tag team type fighter like most of their cross-overs, but more tactical gameplay like the Street Fighter Alpha series. And the meat of the cast would be Street Fighter and Metal Gear Solid Characters.

Just imagining the line ups is pretty interesting (Ryu & Megaman vs. Solid Snake & Simon Belmont)

Modern Gears of War: Edge of Bioshock ????? I don't know
(Mirror's Edge, Modern Warfare, Gears of War, Bioshock)

I will make this work someday.

The atmosphere, plasmids, and upgrading of weapons from Bioshock. Some weapons from Gears of War (Lancer, Torgue Bow, etc.). Platforming from Mirror's Edge. Other weapons from Modern Warfare.

The plot could be something like: you're a modern day marine, your team is sent in to check supernatural readings behind enemy lines. Things blow up, strange creatures appear the universe gets f**cked and YOU need to fix EVERYTHING with strange powers and weapons.
Un-original I know, but didn't think too much on it.
Feel free to give better plot, name, or whatever.

I've been trying to figure out how a Half Life/Metroid cross could work... Because really, seeing Gordon and Samus teaming up would just be AWESOME.

That, and the Vortigaunts seem like they're able to tap into the same universal contact that the Chozo and Luminoth did, and Space Pirates seem like perfect Combine assimilation material.

This should happen. Like, now. And clearly, the player should be able to control either of those awesome specimens of character design.

Also, if a balance could be established between the powers of their respective protagonists; inFamous versus Prototype.
Following the second instalment of his franchise, Cole MacGrath pursues The Beast which leads him to San Francisco, where the city has been overrun by the Infected, Blackwatch, and a pleasant old fellow by the name of Alex Mercer.
Gore and lightning ensues.

Since Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter used to head-to-head back in the day...yeah.

Zelda and Castlevania seem like a good match in settings and don't already overlap too much.

Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy ought to do this as both under the same company now. Maybe throw in Mana and Bahamut Lagoon, too. It'd make a nice cast for Dissidia 2, if nothing else.

Dissidia 2 needs one thing, and one thing alone: Kain Highwind.

OT: Power Rangers vs Soul Calibur (Featuring Spawn)

Think about that.

Spawn: You're pissing me off.
Jason: It's Morphin' Time! Tyrannousaurus! Power Sword!

Round 1. Fight!

The best part? Aside from Spawn, this could happen. Bandai-Namco recently signed up to do EVERY Power RAngers game for the next few years. And Saban, who recently bought back the rights from Disney, is pushing hard to bring back Power Rangers in a big way. Everything form ads, to signing up to show reruns on NickToons, to the Power Rangers being at Comic-Con, giving away dvds.
