Today i got an assignment for history, and we have to come up with questions for people in history. but the teacher stressed that he doesn't give boring projects, so he doesn't expect boring stuff back. so he said we have to come up with 5 people by monday and bring in the names. so now i ask you for some really cool/intresting people. i need one from the following centuries
pre 1600s-1600s
1700s
1800s
1900s
2000s
and i also need some women. any help is appreciated!

EDIT:i should probably mention that he said that if you do a person alot of people are doing your going to get graded based on how yours stacks up. so Joan of Arc snd like Jesus are totally out.

ALSO THEY DONT HAVE TO BE DEAD!

ALSO ALSO!! teddy roosevelt goes without saying! im totally doing him.

Andrew Jackson.
He got into a duel, got shot in the stomach, and then proceeded to shoot the other man in the head.

Teddy Roosevelt
He got shot during his speech, and left the wound as it was and kept giving his speech.

I saw a picture of George Washington punching down a tree...

That's right, punching down a tree...
Now I feel I'm starting to understand America's fixation with heroes.

Miles Davis was pretty cool, infact, he invented cool (jazz).

He also changed the face of music two or three times, and made fun of white people a lot.

Pre 1600's: William the Conquerer, or for someone slightly more obscure, Caligula.
1600's: Shakespeare. Obvious choice, I know, but to quote: "Now Shakespeare might be a dead white guy, but he knows his shit..." (cookie for reference).
1700's: Johann Sebastian Bach, or Carl Friedrich Gauss.
1800's: Belle Starr, Karl Marx or Friedrich Nietzsche.
1900's: Teddy Roosevelt, JR Kennedy, or Margaret Thatcher.
2000's: For less obvious choices, try little known bands and the indie scene, indie films, indie music, and so on. Or just pick Obama.

pre-1600= Robert The Bruce. Scottish King and won the Battle of Bannockburn
1600s= Issac Newton (what more needs to be said?)
1700s= Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté, KB. Britain's greatest naval officer
1800s= Maj. General Joshua Chamberlain, US Civil War officer. Did alot of amazing things during the war, look them up
1900s= Tony Benn MP (well, in my personal opinion he was and is a great man)
2000s= To be honest, I can't think of anyone for the past decade because it mostly sucked...
