Chiune Sugihara was a Japanese Diplomat who was a Consul in Lithuania at the start of World War II. By creating many travel visas, he was able to help get over 6000 jews out of the surrounding region by having the Japanese government convinced that they were tourists. After the war, Israel honored him as 'Righteous Among the Nations', an award highly similar to what was bestowed on Oskar Schindler.
