Orcs/Orks from Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. Having been nerdy enough to read into their biology, social structuring and hidden mental powers, (Plus I find their antics hilarious) They become my top choice.
I like the backstory of the Necron(tyr) from 40k, but they're army is so bland to actually play (And play against) that they lose points for me.

It's a close call, with Xenomorphs coming in for a CLOSE second, but my favorite is the Pequeninos from the Ender's Game series.
Even though they've been genetically altered, and are a 'freakish' cross between mammal-like animals with a tree, I love 'em! One of the coolest alien life form concepts I've encountered. I like them so much that I have to actively try to not use them in my scifi stories.

Warhammer 40K's Tau. In a galaxy held together with crap and evil, they are strong-willed enough to strive to be a force for good. It's too bad the only people anyone wants to play in 40k video games are the boring-ass humans and orcs.

But anyway, Sanghelli, Xenomorphs, Chozo, and the Forerunners are next in line of coolness IMO and they are both equally great but an alien race that is completely energy and who will destroy with impunity anything that poses any threat to them at all definitely wins this one for me.
