The AA-12, because there's no such thing as overkill.
You could add onto it a grenade launching under barrel, and onto that another shotgun frontmount, and then a flamethrower attachment onto that.

Call it the overkill rifle.

The RPC, of course.

Unless someone invents a rocket launcher that shoots a shotgun that shoots tiny lightsabers... tiny chainsaw lightsabers.

The DeLisle Commando Carbine:

A modified Lee Enfield rifle, converted to .45 ACP with the barrel of a Thompson and the magazine of a Colt 1911. Virtually silent.

Real life: the XM8 weapon system:

It was an experimental assault rifle with modular assembly that could be modified in the field, officialy for 4 variants, the default, cabinet, SAW, and DMR.

Despite the fact that it was over 5x more effective than the standard issue M416 in stoppage tests, the US army canceled the entire project.

Presumably because it looked to damn cool looking.

Fake: Every gun from borderlands, the fuel rod gun from halo.
Nope, they cancelled it 'cos it was plastic tack and it had a habit of melting. True story.

And I believe you mean the standard issue M4/M16 rifle?
/gun nazi

The coolest gun ever?

Why, it has to be the Winchester '94 lever action rifle of course!

A timeless classic really, sexy as hell.

This gun doesn't exist in any game I've seen (yet), but essentially:

A chaingun that fires steel stakes. We're talking 12 inch long, 2 inch wide, pin-you-to-a-wall stakes.

Pretty much this, if you were looking for one that exists.

I'm quite aware of that... but saying it's a wunderwaffle is making it a lot cooler!

Fictional: Wunderwaffe DG-2

Yes, me and Mr. Sparky have fried many zombies.

Non-Fictional: M60

Have a SAW similar to the M249, but use 7.62mm rather than 5.56mm rounds.

No, actually, I think he was refering to the Hechler & Koch 416 (AKA the HK416)

I think it's actually starting to replace the M4s and M16s as the standard assualt rifle in the US.

They stopped the project because even the slightest bit of sand jammed the firing mechanism, making it completely unusable in desert conditions (the kind that we're fighting in right now).

Also, since the mechanism was so radically different from the M4 and M16, upon implementation of this rifle, the military would have had to completely reteach all personnel how to strip, clean, and maintain their rifles, as well as buying completely new tools for the job, which would cost them millions more, and they didn't want to do that.
While the latter bit you made is true, the former one is false.

As I said, in a stoppage test:

"Ten of each type of rifle were used to fire 6,000 rounds each, for a total of 60,000 rounds per rifle type. The M4 suffered far more stoppages than its competitors: 882 stoppages, 19 requiring an armorer to fix. The XM8 had the fewest stoppages, 116 minor stoppages and 11 major ones, followed by the FN SCAR with 226 stoppages and the HK416 with 233."

The XM8 jammed the least.

And what conditions were those in? I only said it jammed because of sand, so unless this test was performed out in the desert, you have not proven me wrong.
"The M4 carbine, the weapon soldiers depend on in combat, finished last in a recent "extreme dust test" to demonstrate the M4's reliability compared to three newer carbines.

Weapons officials at the Army Test and Evaluation Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., exposed Colt Defense LLC's M4, along with the Heckler & Koch XM8, FNH USA's Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle and the H&K 416 to sandstorm conditions from late September to late November, firing 6,000 rounds through each test weapon"

I can assure you it's not. Maybe some SOF guys have gotten their fingers on it, but it's pretty far off from standard issue.

Also, a M60 is hardly a SAW. GPMG maybe, but not really a SAW.

Ladies and gentlemen, the punt gun! A shotgun so freaking huge that it looks like it belongs on a battleship. Seriously, it's an 11-foot gun with a 2-inch bore! And it's duck hunting.....for a great many ducks.

And for my fantasy one.

As a note about the Berreta 92, that series is known to the military as the M-9 and is further known as being a junky piece of garbage, it's also known for having "minor malfunctions" that involve shrapnel. As a semi-famous SEAL cadence goes "You think your a Navy SEAL? Not till you eat some italian steel".

Further I can confirm with Visari, we aren't using any HK made weapons, at least not in the Marines as of two months ago when I turned in my virgin issued to me 7 months ago M-16A4 service rifle. (compliments of the US Government and the nice people at FN)

For my weapon the H&K G11 is still so stupidly ahead of it's time we have yet to catch up to it. Other wise I'm an insane fanboy for the TAR-21, leave it to the Israelis to show the world exactly what a real assault rifle is supposed to do.

for my nonexistant gear I'd like a rail gun like this one but man portable :D
