Alternative...
Chaos Space Marine Squad from Dawn of War: Chaos Rising. Basic upgrade boosts their stats. The can get a champion who makes them better again. Lastly they can be upgraded to be either amazing ranged soldiers or given chain-axes (a bit like a chainsaw, but in axe form - nasty!) and used as heavy assault troops. The just look awesome as well.
Seconded on this.
These bastards are absolutely OP with the chain axe and plasma pistol upgrade, especially with a Champion attached to them.
I've taken one squad and a Chaos sorcerer on an absolute rampage across the map, started off with 0 zeal, or the Chaos equivalent and landed back at my base with one Chaos Marine dead and enough points to call in Chaos' AoE rape ability.

Those things demolish everything in their path, they're brilliant from the word go, cheaper and more versatile than your average Space Marine counterpart because chain axes make them useful against everything.
Originally I never used the Khorne Upgrade, always went Tzeench for the ridiculous bolters. When I did eventually try them I was like "WHA?!!!!!!!!" Now my favoured dick-tactic is to have one of each; warpfire (or whatever they're called) bolters covering the berserkers are they run in and turn everyone into piles of red (or green) gore. All I can say is they are awesome.

The monks/priests/whatever from Age of Empires. I loved the way they chanted, because it sounded like they were saying "I am a yoyo, I am a yoyo".

Never tried this, I tend to go for either one or the other because most of the time I don't have enough patience to split up my forces that tactically, and the Khorne upgrade gives me a good excuse to say to them:

"See that guy over there? Fuck him and everyone around him."

I'll have to try that next time my pop cap isn't overflowing with Dreadnoughts and Bloodletters then.

I would say the C&C 3 mammoth tank

I prefered this

Oh no I forgot about that. New favorite.
I never liked the Mammoth Tank MK II. It always seemed sloppy in design and kind of too heavy. The huge legs instead of treads was never my thing :). Also no twin barrels, no votes :D. No awesome lines as well, though forgiven since Tiberium Sun was before the invention of interesting lines :). To top that you can have only one. Where is the fun in that?
I always liked it because it was so strong. Plus I find it's design pretty neat.

true, especially because those are the space marines from Dawn of War (7th Legion being a spinoff based on, well, the 7th Legion's wars)

but I'm not all that sure, it's just something I heard on them interbutts

Volksgrenadiers from Company of Heroes are my favourite unit. Total fodder, and amusing sound files. "Come on now children, onto the bus!" Beyond that, the Dreadnought from Dawn of War 1/2 and the Turanic Raider Ion Array Frigate from Homeworld are favourites. :)

"Goliath online!"

Love those guys. Although I've also got a soft-spot for Zerglings and Mutalisks. Zerglings are just great to swarm the enemy with and once you get that Hive-level upgrade they can dish out the damage really fast. And Muties are great for taking on just about anything when you've got enough of them.

Although the Rocket Halftrack from Close Combat IV: Battle of the Bulge (damn is that game old) were so fun. Just hearing those rockets go off and then waiting for them to land was great.

Very, very unlikely. Totally different look to them, and the 7th legion is the Imperial fists, yellow armour. Plus that must have come out before DoW...and there's no way it wouldn't have GW logos plastered all over it if it was anything to do with DoW. Basically just no.

Or I could just post the above

I always like the Overlord in C&C Generals mainy because it spoke like a total bad ass and could run over other tanks.

And in AOE:3 the George Crushington cheat unit. A stone bust of George Washington which hopped around the map and smashed things with its face.

as I said, it was something I just heard, never said it was the actual truth, thanks for correcting me, but again, I never said I was sure

I know, I did quote you saying you weren't sure after all :)
