Florida actually has had a lot of problems with profiling, one of the worst states in the country (actually i think it's THE worst) part of that being they have a very very high amount of drug trafficking and encourage the behavior.
actually i have no issue with the police profiling, it can actually reduce the amount of time they spend looking for ppl who did crimes. it just gets a bad name because when a crime happens in an area where a racial minority is the majority they pull them over first depending on the crime

as for the topic, this is why fark has a florida tag and both parties are rather stupid

as for cops, yeah i've been hassled by them for no good reason or at least some very flimsy one cause they were bored, they kinda changed their tune when they found out i wasn't some teen punk and quite a bit older

I live in Florida and I can attest that our police force is corrupt, hateful and crooked. The way they treat people who need help, or are the victims of violent crime is not only out of line, it's criminal. I have long-time family friends that are law enforcement, and they're no exception.

Maybe it was a scam by a thief; maybe it was a million things. But this is the kind of thing our cops do all the time. That's the simplest explanation.
Amen, I live in Knoxville TN and our sheriffs and police are incredibly corrupt, but what really sucks is the judges on their side. When my buddy contested a traffic ticket one cops word overruled 4 witnesses and what should have been just driving school or small fine turned into 6 months probation. (for pealing out of a parking lot) The cop said "there where little children around and that he was doing doughnuts at 25 35 MPH" granted this was 11 at night and parking lot was empty except for our three cars. Also my buddies car was a dodge 2500 diesel extended cap long bed with an automatic tranny(I'd like to see that do a donut at 30 mph.
Any time i've been pulled over the cops have been absolute jerks. Plus when a failing to use blinker ticket cost 105$ it's no wonder we don't like the police/judges

It's not like the police are inherently corrupt or anything...oh no wait.
I take a great deal of offense to that. Nearly all police officers are putting their lives and safety on the line for ungrateful people like yourself. Cops and auxilleries are not some weird aliens from outer space they are human beings too... most of them are good people some of them are bad, just like other people. The problem is when they are bad they have the authority to be VERY bad.

If you get robbed, mugged, or your neighbor has a dog that won't shut the fuck up, I really hope that you receive excellent service from your local law enforcement agency so maybe you can change your tune.
Cops may very well be the knights in shining armor that are here to mete out just with divine hands. But, I've been pulled over illegally by officers twice, and had my car searched the same amount because they claimed to smell pot. I mean I don't mind them doing their jobs, but could they follow their own rules?

Surely insane and, if I'm not mistaken, violation of a few rights due an unjustified drastic act.

This is just like the bug in Fallout 3 (and Oblivion as well) where NPCs accidentally kill themselves and therefore prevent you from taking part in quests and the like:

"It's funny, just because it's not your game"
(Completely off-topic, but) Just like the HVT's in Mercs 2 who like to kill themselves, instantly voiding the 50-point achievement for capturing them all alive, and only giving you half the bounty for verifying them.

As for the topic at hand... I really the hope the cop is fired, and the victim gets his 360/games back.
