Well today I went to watch some old time show on TV Shack, well it has been seized by the U.S. authorities, I also found that Watchmovies had the same problem.

Copyright infringement is bad in my opinion but at the same time the prices they charge for boxsets are kinda ridiculous. If you charged a little less for boxsets and movies, say 50% less, maybe people would buy more instead of downloading, I know I would.

Edit: Well I just thought of this: Is hosting links of the movies really distributing them?

Edit 2: While I'm on the topic I should mension that a few monthes back, my sister downloaded 2012 and got a letter from the parent company stating that any further downloads could result in a lawsuit.

I wouldn't say its distributing, more like advertising, but some (read: police) might not see it that way.

I'm canadian so I don't get netflix.
I hear you guys don't get Hulu, either? That really sucks, I love Hulu.

It can really suck, especially licensing deals. I know I've lost a few channels either temporarily or permanently because of studios holding out for outrageous increases in contracts.

I think it also sort of hurts the antipiracy cause when studios all of sudden get extremely petty with licensing and copyright claims because they don't like something. Especially when they try to sue parodies, at that point it looks like bullying.

In a way, by linking it is supporting the distribution of the material. Just like how they bring down torrent sites. They are not hosting anything but working to allow it to happen.
