When a friend of mine and I get bored, we start threatening each other over the phone. The items we threaten each other are items known to both of us, that are taken from various games, movies, TV shows, commercials, famous short stories, etc. It starts off in this world, right here, right now. It quickly changes.
I invite everyone else to play along if you want. Here's a snippet of gameplay:
Him: "I get the Orin from The Never Ending Story to wish for a way to find a hiding place where you'll never be able to steal my stuff."
Me: "I steal your Orin while you're sleeping, grab The Monkey's Paw from the story of the same name, combine them in The Horadric Cube from Diablo 2, then put it back where it was!"
Him: "I collect the all 7 star Dragonballs from DBZ, and summon the dragon to grant the wish!"
Me: "Oh yeah? Well I bean him with a Master Ball from Pokemon, so now he can grant wishes for me instead!"
Him: "Well fine, but the dragon is definitely level 100 and you have no badges! The ball only has a 100% catch rate, but you don't have all the badges, so it won't listen to you."
Items taken from various media are referred to as "Artifacts" or "True Artifacts". Really, you're only allowed to whip out one new artifact per post. Whether you claim them for swag purposes, to defend yourself against other artifacts, or to attack people with them, it's up to you. Maybe you just want them as materials to combine them with something else.
The only real rules are that:
1: Not allowed to kill other players (at least for now).
2: Make sure you make reference to the item you're claiming. Failure to include a link to the original media means you might be lying on what the item does exactly, so you can't have it. Even things like "The Master Sword" have to be referenced, just in case someone doesn't know what it is.
3: Each artifact can only be claimed ONCE. Whoever posts first gets it.
4: Exceptions to rule 3: The Master Ball is given to every player in every version of the game series, and you can even have a pokemon hold it and trade the pokemon to someone else, giving away your master ball. Because of that, everyone CAN get one if they so choose. Though the Horadric Cube from Diablo 2 is given to every player as well, if you already have one, then you can't get another. This means only one person can get each version. Yes, the expansion to Diablo 2 changes how the Cube works and how much space it seems to have, so that's two versions.
5: If an item has different versions, each version can be claimed individually. An example might be the different Omintrix watches from Ben 10, or another example might be the Orin from The Neverending Story really just increased personal luck and its wishes granted expedient luck, but the second movie made it actually grant real wishes.
6: You can claim whatever non-artifacts you want on a whim, but I suggest not choosing anything like 'a billion dollar pile of gold!' or 'a rocket launcher'. Something more likely to be weapons someone might actually have, like sniper rifles and swords, or other stuff to be used creatively. If you do wanna choose uber non-artifacts, then don't do it more than once a page, please.
7: Nothing with intelligence above animal, unless it's part of the artifact's 'personality'. Tank Girl's tank is acceptable because it's only as smart as a dog.
Artifact: Most items from most games, movies, TV shows, etc. The item can be just about anything, really. I personally dislike the idea of claiming vehicles, but I have done it from time to time myself, like the Yellow Submarine (The Beatles), the Magic Schoolbus (Magic Schoolbus), or Tank Girl's Tank (Tank Girl).
True Artifact: True Artifacts are items called "artifacts" in their original media that besides that, are unique, AND have a huge amount of NPC fanfare. Examples are bad guy armies trying to claim the item you already have, or knowing that whoever holds that item, that is their archnemesis and they'll stop at nothing to get you out of the way. The Master Sword is one such True Artifact, as well as The Omnitrix, or The One Ring.

I am also running Azure Wyrm, but not slowing or stopping that. Just I'm permanently at home with nothing to do, so I have time for both games.
