That's terribly judgemental. Some cultures/people consider a skirt that doesn't reach the ankles to be "slutty". As far as I'm concerned, if someone feels comfortable enough in their own skin to have it showing they should be free to dress how they like. It doesn't help anyone to perpetuate the idea that some women are deserving of scorn because they noticed they get more attention the less clothes they wear.EeveeElectro said:I absolutely despise women who do that. I mean those ones who wear pretty much next to nothing and try pass it off as a cosplay. Feminising the character is fine and can look good but if you had any respect for the character, you wouldn't slutty them up. If you have any respect for yourself, you wouldn't leave the house with your gash and tits nearly falling out, cosplay or not.
Am I supposed to find the 1st chick more attractive cause I really don't... Did you want me to think this way or am I just weird?Qitz said:Of course it tends to be "Girls Yay, Guys Nay." Most gamers are guys and most guys like checking out girls in hot outfits, which most female cosplay out fits are.

Well, I'm sure the best thing you could have done in this situation was make a post with no actual constructive feedback.Vega said:**Scanning**

It's a girl. You can tell but the fairly soft facial features and slightly curved hips. Her shoulders are also a give away; men have broader shoulders that tend to slope less than women.Lt._nefarious said:Am I supposed to find the 1st chick more attractive cause I really don't... Wait the second chick is a chick right? Or am I technically bisexual now?
(I'm really not as sexist as this post would suggest)
I was gonna say, using an Elf character for your male example is a bad idea. Yeah, that second one.Lt._nefarious said:Am I supposed to find the 1st chick more attractive cause I really don't... Anyone as confident and outgoing as you is hardly stupid or ugly. You've got the right idea ^^Vampire cat said:I'm what people would describe as a nerd I guess. I do cosplay, some of my friends does cosplay, I love videogames, books, fantasy and guns. My friends like these things too, which is what brought us together most of the time. Funilly enough, it's those of my friends that try their hardest not to look like a nerd that have remained a virgin for the longest (some still are), while those of us that don't give a fuck can enjoy both our hobbies and our sexual life without being worried about stuff like this.
In the end I don't CARE that people think I'm stupid, silly, ugly and nerdy for doing the things I like. There are enough people that enjoy the same things as me that I don't NEED to care about what other people think. I'm not tearing your ass up for your Eminem cosplay, so fuck off and let me enjoy my time as a kick-ass warrior nun X3.
Which isn't that much of a compliment, because if you grouped everyone inside a club and measured their IQ the average wouldn't reach three digits because of all the numbskulls dragging the numbers down.TheKasp said:They are normal people and no less engaging that clubgoer 0815 during normal conversation.
Your post was not sexist. If being heterosexual makes you a sexist then fuck me, I'll take the next spaceship to the sun.Lt._nefarious said:(I'm really not as sexist as this post would suggest)
Nope, yeah, looked harder (think what you will of that statement) and yep it's a woman, and an extremely attractive one at that, but I won't let myself get fooled my feminine men again... Not after last time...Clearing the Eye said:It's a girl. You can tell but the fairly soft facial features and slightly curved hips. Given, it could just be a very physically effeminate male.
But what if time, money, and a lot of energy went into making a sexy version of a costume? I mean yeah I can understand more if it's like, a girl puts on a bikini and a Naruto head band and says "I'm a ninja" (I actually saw this at a con I went to) but if their costume is well made and is sexy do you still feel the same way? You said it demeans the whole point of cosplay, but it's not like there are textbook rules you have to follow. Some people dress up because they really like that character, some people dress up because they like the outfit and may not know anything about the character, some dress up so they can be part of a group cosplay, some do it to show off how well made their costume is, etc. If a girl happens to have a nice figure and wants to wear skin-tight costumes, short shorts, or whatever it may be, why can't they? What if their version of cosplay is "to make an unsexy costume sexy"? A few years ago for Halloween I got a Cthulhu mask and a school girl outfit and went out as "Cute-thulhu".Relish in Chaos said:Most of the time, it just looks incredibly tacky and shows that they don't really care about the character at all; they just want attention for the wrong reasons. It's not, "Oh, nice, you've made a really good Captain America costume", it's "Oh, I've never had such a fucking hard-on for Captain America, you've got massive tits!". It just demeans the whole point of cosplaying. It's the same thing when some girls dress up in those crappy and slutty costumes for Halloween.Riki Darnell said:I don't think women sexing up their costume is wrong. To each his own right? If they have a nice looking body and aren't afraid to show it off more power to 'em.
I don't know if I'm more terrified or turned on.Riki Darnell said:A few years ago for Halloween I got a Cthulhu mask and a school girl outfit and went out as "Cute-thulhu".
Man, you should probably, you know, deal with those urges. Go, now, deal.Clearing the Eye said:I don't know if I'm more terrified or turned on.Riki Darnell said:A few years ago for Halloween I got a Cthulhu mask and a school girl outfit and went out as "Cute-thulhu".
OT: Anyone else read the title and think of roleplay in the bedroom, every time? I've been in here, like, three times and I still get my hopes up for a second when I say the thread's name again >_>
I did, and now I don't know what to write as a reply...Clearing the Eye said:OT: Anyone else read the title and think of roleplay in the bedroom, every time? I've been in here, like, three times and I still get my hopes up for a second when I say the thread's name again >_>
This.Phasmal said:I dunno. I mean, I've seen plenty of scorn directed at female cosplayers should they happen to be overweight. Yeah, maybe everyone likes the pretty girls in costume, but the not so pretty girls?
For attempting the same thing, yes. However, there are quite a few roles to play the skinny folks can't pull off... what was the name of that pudgy plumber from the Nintendo offices again? ;PStu35 said:Ugly/Fat people however, get absolutely shredded for attempting the same thing.
