Ok so, I want to go the Comic Con...NEXT YEAR...So I'm starting to work on my costume now. Since it's Comic Con, I'm planning to dress up as my favorite DC Hero:

I don't want this to be a cheap attempt, I want to look like a real version of him. I'm not much of a tailor myself, and I don't really know anyone that is...but I do know a sculptor that works in plastic molding, and I think that could help.

So here's my first problem, the suit. I was thinking I could use a Wetsuit, but I heard those are difficult to dye, so advice on that would be nice. I also see the "blocks" or rectangles on his chest as buckles, and I was think I could work that idea in the suit some how. Question is, how?

The Utility belt is by far the easiest, for me, to get a hold of. I looked up a lot of Robin cosplay on several sites and noticed a lot of people use a belt that looks, I don't know how to describe it. My only problem here is getter a buckle to match Tim's. His is just a simple circle, and I might just have to mold that myself.

I know what type of mask I would need, but I don't know where to get it. I found this [http://www.mostlydead.com/p1072/Hero-Mask/product_info.html], which from the description and photo is perfect, I just want to see other options.

For the gloves and boots, I'm unsure really what to do. I'm most likely going to get elbow length gloves, but for the boots I need to decide if I want to stay as true as I can or go with something more practical. The more practical ones I believe would be easier to find, like tie it secure or buckle it secure, but same idea.

Lastly the cape. I just don't know where I'm going to get a cape. If I had to choose one color, black, but to have it as it is in the comics would be better. As much as I'd prefer it to be a shorter cape, I need to have it relatively long [At least ankle length.]

And that's about it, thanks for looking over it, and thanks even more for any advice!

Is there some sort of Arts & Crafts store in your area? And do you know a tailor? Tailors usually specialize in suits, but they can do capes as well. They also fit the cape to your liking. For boots and gloves, something leathery from the military surplus stores. You could also contact this guy for advice. He's an excellent cosplayer.

That mask looks awfully cheap to be honest.

I've been cosplaying for, well, a long time now and happened to come across this website a while back. They have wonderful masks. You'll pay more, but it's worth the price. They will also customize the color of the mask if you let them know pre-buying it.

As far as adhering it, a little bit of Ben Nye Spirit Gum will keep it on your face all day (just make sure you have Spirit Gum Remover too) http://www.stagemakeuponline.com/02-SG/Spirit-Gum-Adhesive-Ben-Nye.html

Aye, thanks for that. I had a feeling the mask would be a bit more of a pain than anticipated.

How good are you sewing?
Not too good...However I know someone who can...Honestly, my only problems right now are the suit and the cape. Everything else is pretty simple to replicate or purchase, now that I've done some digging.
