It's the rule of cool/sexy, not the practicality. That's why the more powerful you are, the bigger your shoulder pieces are, villains are always covered in spiky bits, and women wear no armor at all.trophykiller said:To the creator of the costume: Well done, you put your talents to good use and made an accurate costume. I applaud you on a job well done and hope to see more from you.
To the creator of the character: What were you thinking, that is the worst possible design you could have made. I may not play diablo, but I can tell you I would laugh if something like that attacked me in real life. His "armor" is entirely impractical and won't actually stop any real attack, and the ornaments on top will only make him easy to topple, therefor easier to kill.
I don't undertand the appeal of impracticality in fantasy. Just because you're a demon lord or a woman, doesn't mean you can't think before putting on a stupid piece of armor.
Not to rain on the parade of fantasy lovers, but wouldn't he be experienced enough to know they're a disadvantage and kindly ask his smithy to take them off? Unless the armorer did it on purpose, trying to get him killed. This leads me to believe the lord of terror is a complete D-bag and his men are trying to kill him off.Taunta said:It's the rule of cool/sexy, not the practicality. OT: Here's waiting to see you at next years Costume contest! Also cheers from a fellow Oklahoman.
And I kind of like how he looks less like a lord of terror and more like a giant insect.
I'd say give him one of their signs and just let him stand there. Those signs don't look that hard to make, especially after seeing the costume. Even if he stood across the street, that'd fall under freedom of speech, right? or at least a street performer? parody work?rhizhim said:now i see who really keeps these retarded westboro baptist trolls away from oklahoma...

i would pay 100$ to see him aproach them saying: hello my minions.
I'm not defending it, I find it equally as impractical as you do. But it's the visual aspect. Having a fantasy game with realistic medieval armor would be realistic, and probably more practical, but it would be boring.trophykiller said:Not to rain on the parade of fantasy lovers, but wouldn't he be experienced enough to know they're a disadvantage and kindly ask his smithy to take them off? On a more serious note, why do people think it looks cool? I can kind of understand the platemail bikinis on women(though I do not agree with it), but the massive shoulder spikes and horns make him look ridiculous.
and Zerg blatantly stole from the tyranids, in the backstory and the designs.felixader said:I love most of Blizzards Art (althougth i can't say exactly the same from most of their games actual gameplay) but if this is really the way Diable is designed then i have to sadly point out that he looks like a Zerg.
Abd THAT wouldn't be the first time that i have the feeling that Blizzards Art gets redundant lately.
