My psychology teacher is one of those people who really hates heavy metal. He can't go a full class period without mentioning at least once that it's bad for you. He'll often refer to us as "cotton-pickin' metalheads!"
And I can deal with that, you know? Some people just don't like it.
But then he said something that sent me over the edge. I went to the Metallica concert in Charlottesville, Virginia and I had a lot of fun. It was insanely awesome. But then my professor mentions that a girl had disappeared at the concert, which is true (link at bottom). He agreed that this could happen anywhere, but then questioned why anyone would put themselves "in that situation".
I would.
I have class with him tomorrow and I plan on, before class begins, showing him my ticket and telling him that I went. I'm not doing this out of anger, but just to show him who he's preaching to. If he wants to discuss it, then so be it.
Also, I bought a package of KISS M&Ms which I'm going to leave on his podium with a note that reads, "TO: Dr._______, LOVE: Those Cotton-Pickin' Metalheads!"
So, for discussion:
What do you think of my ideas?
Do you have any teachers/professors like this, and if so, how have you dealt with them?
