He's the son of god, not god. His things are to help others. He could probably heal himself after being shot.

But most likely he'd die and come back 3 days later.
He is the son of God and also God, he is his own father. He has all of God's power Think of it as multiple personalities that pay attention to different things(yes, a schizephrenic(sic) god).
So, he could dodge a bullet if he wanted too. That man (supposedly): fought dragons; killed children for lack of respect; slayed(slew?) a dragon; and much more.(those examples are from multiple gospels that got cut out of the bible)

If you can dodge a nail you can dodge a bullet.
Winner.

Besides, we live in more cynical times these days. Even assuming that the second coming is true, Jesus would declare himself to be the son of God and instantly be carted away to be locked away in a nice comfy room with a large dose of happy pills.

Jesus, the ultimate figue for a major religion, was nailed to a cross.

Thor, a Norse religious figure who wields a giant hammer.

COINCIDENCE?

Nope, couldn't even dodge a bunch of Roman guards...

Unlike Thor, Thor would've kicked their asses and feasted upon their entrails, he'd bite the bullet and spite it back while engulfing it in lightning!

Hail to all the True Almighty fathers and mothers, Bragi, Bur, Buri, Eir,

Forseti, Frey, Freyja, Frigg, Fulla, Gefjon, Gna, Heimdall, Hermod,

depending on what kind of gun. a pistol he would just move out of the way, an automatic he would just turn it into a super soaker, a minigun he would just turn the bullets into twinkies and replace himself with either glenn beck or dick cheney (a loudmouth or an immortal), a gatling gun from a ship or aircraft he would just turn etheral, wander to the nearest factory that produces straight to dvd movies and watch the fireworks ensue. but yes, he could, but you never know just which way he'll do it

It doesn't really matter. Even if it hits him, he can always respawn. It's just that this time the countdown will be longer and he may have to go repair.

Shouldn't this be in R&P?

I have never seen anything that could make me believe Jesus Christ son of God from the bible was a real person from real history.

Even if you believe the bible Jesus really happend in history, then it still shows that he had a mortal body that could bleed and be mortally wounded.
Fact: He did die in the bible. Just because he came back from the dead, doesn't mean he wasn't dead when he died on the cross.

He died from being beaten, stabbed, and nailed to the cross. I'm pretty sure that if this had really happend, he could have been hurt and died from being shot with a gun too.

Of course Jesus could stop bullets. He's a wizard.

What gets me though, is the walking on water thing. If he walks on water as if it were land, wouldn't small waves, or even ripples, disturb the surface so much that he would lose his footing. Or at least seriously damage his ankles.

I don't think this was thought through.

Anyways, I suppose yes he could, but obviously he wouldn't since "turn the other cheek" and all. and he never actively opposed the people who killed him.
is it wrong that when i read this i imagined a roman coming up behind him and "popping a cap is his arse"?

I think he could dodge them and that he's the agent smith of this world! (not saying hes the bad guy...)
A roman wouldn't just shoot somebody, that's far too quick. Romans are famous for devising elaborate and excruciating torture. A simple bullet is just too simple.
well to be fair it is right it the butt so it wouldn't be an insta-kill... i suppose he COULD get knee capped but OUCH, i think he'd rather avoid that one to be honest.

I still stand by my opinion that he COULD but just WONT because he's awkward like that.

Well, the romans were pretty good at killing people en masse when they needed to. When that army of 10,000 defeated an army of 100,000 celts you can bet that wasn't more than a few hours

Yeah, course he could, they're just bullets.

I mean, plenty of people can stop bullets. Theodore Roosevelt, Jason Statham, Agent Tequila, Fireman Sam......

Just to name a few.
