Nashville country makes me want to kill babies, I guess I should point out that I'm a Texas country kind of dude.

interesting. I had no clue that there was differences a lot of it sounds the same. the same twangyness and country singers have an odd thing when they sing. I can not put my finger on it though.

do you look like a cowboy?

Well, I wear jeans and cowboy boots. It's not odd to see me in a plaid shirt, but I usually go without the hat.

Think of country like metal. There are endless amounts of different kinds of metal out there, right? Same way with country. In fact, there is a shit ton of country out there I can't stand, namely "Riba" I wish I could murder her. But there are smaller lesser known bands that are more regionally acceptable to Texas that I love.

I guess I should say that the worse of the advertised bands are not what country is all about, they're just the ones with record deals. We have ALOT of AWESOME bands out here that have just recently been able to make it onto the radio.

EDIT: Because I don't want to double post. But the easiest way to pick up chicks by FAR is to learn how to Two-Step. Believe me guys, it's like heroin for the girls, you can be an ugly mother fucker, but if you can two-step decently well, they will fall in love with you. It's happen time and time again. I can't even tell you how many chicks I've stolen from guys just because I know how to dance. Granted I went to college at Texas Tech and we had a country culture out there, but ya'll should really try it, you'd be surprised with the results you reap.

It used to be all I listened to a long time ago, then I was slowly introduced to other kinds of music and I don't listen to country all that much any more. I've still got all the stuff I had when I did listen to it, I just have a broader appreciation for music these days.

If you are able to convert a gal who is super passionate about her own music to listen to one country song then post a song that you would get a person in love with country.

Can't stand it, sorry.

I've dabbled in Folk a bit with Greg Graffin but I was only even turned onto that because Graffin is also the lead singer to Bad Religion (my favorite Punk Rock band). I've been dragged to several Country shows and even trying to enjoy it I still hated the music.

Not a country fan but I don't really dislike it the way I do today's rap. At least it is actual music.

Country makes me want to throw myself off a bridge.

That aside, to each their own. If you enjoy it, then good for you.

Well living in England there is very little in the way of that sort of music... which I guess explains why it became a sort of guilty pleasure of mine, its so different to almost anything on these shores and that intruiges me.

As for some songs, well lets see...

oh and sorry if im completely missinterpreting "country music" heh, from england after all as I mentioned earlier.

The only few redeemable modern country bands would be Wilco and Hank III, and it would be a stretch to call ether of those bands pure country.

Old country I can stand but modern country sounds like Pop with a fake sense of pride. Usually calling themselves true americans, and they say they are the people music, you know because every other genre is disconnected with the people.

Also country strong is a bad movie trying to capitalize on people who don't know better not to see it.
