Johnny Cash. He's the only country singer I can listen to. All others make me physically ill.

It's strange, but he does have a certain quality that makes him stand out from the other country singers...as well, good...

Favourite song: Hurt

Cliche answer but again the only country I can listen to is cash, the man has a darkness about him, his music is very raw and real.

For the record Hurt is a Nine Inch Nails song that Johnny Cash covered and misinterpreted as a religious song, when in fact its about Drug addiction. Johnny Cash has an abundance of original songs that are far better than the hurt cover. You should look into getting a Discography of his, his originals far outweigh his covers.

Actually Cash did have trouble with addiction at one point, that why it fits so well. I don't think he made it a religious song...

If you want an original song my favourite is probably 'give my love to Rose' or 'Folsom Prison Blues'...

I know he had addiction issues, but the song lyrics were slightly altered to have a more religious feel, and the video was completely religious, and he covered it when he was much older and had become Christian. He did it in a more religious aspect, i'm not saying there is anything wrong with that.
