Hey guys. I just opened my laptop and turned it on, and it looks like the LCD got a crack in it and now the screen is messed up. It must have been damaged in transit or something today...I don't know how though =/. I have a warranty on the laptop and it should be covered, but can someone tell me how easy something like that can be fixed? It would be nice if I didn't lose all my data in the process.

Depends on how hands on you are, to me it would be an easy fix, and no you won't lose your data from changing screens :p

I'm not the most hands on guy in the world, so I'll probably just have Best Buy fix it. I was just wondering how long it would take them to do something like that.

Shouldnt take too long, theyd send it to the company that made the laptop and theyd replace it, its a quick job tho transport etc means itd prob take a week or 2 for the store, ask them when you take it in.

hook it up to a VGA screen and use that while you backup all the important stuff.
send it to the manufacturer afterwards.

It's a very easy fix but, just as insurance, I'd backup all data first. Some computer repairers are, well, "cowboys" to put it kindly.
