note that this theory may have litte worth or it could be major but who knows.

I first heard about it from my guildes in swtor and the basis is that the emperor in the game, and Emperor in the movies are the same spirit, different bodies.

The theory is that the emperor learn thousands of years ago how to switch his spirit/soul whatever you pefer with that of another, effectively meaning that aslong as can find bodies to take over, he can live for years, decades, or millennium after they would have normally died.

If the theory is true than the emerpor in swtor, the movies, and whatever piece of Star Wars canon that is in is the same man er spirit, just with a different body. The emperor is close to 5,000-6,000 years old, and all that time where is tried to take down the repubic with many sith empires, all of which failed and fell apart until 19 BBY, star wars time. For those unaware BBY= before battle of Yavin, and ABY is after battle of Yavin.

Recall in the third movie that palpatine said "The dark side is the pathway to many abilties, some consided to be unatural."

And recall that that movie is called Revenge of the Sith.

In which the Sith finally did have their revenge, after nillenniums of trying and failing.

Captcha: Face the music, um is the captcha trying to talk to me or something?

So what do yall think of this theory and if it has any worth whatsoever, cause it sure does sound awesome doesn't it?

Nope. Sorry.
Sidious learned everything he knew from Plagueis, Sidious was also born on Naboo.

Sorry.

That theory does make sense, and would make the franchise more interesting, which means it surely isn't the case, as George Lucas would never let something interesting or sensible into the Star Wars canon.

I think it is a little lame actually to only ever have one Sith Lord throughout the entire timeline like this. I like different personalities. It makes a lot more sense in the canon if he simply learned everything from Plagueis.

However after Return of the Jedi, in I believe Shadow of the Empire (I could be wrong on the title) they clone the emperors body and his spirit literally does attempt to reconnect with the cloned body, so that does lend your theory even more credit.

So...The Emperor is like 'The Master'.
-Eh, sounds kind of out there.

Then again, it would make MORE sense if his 'force soul/spirit/thing' DID use it's power to INFLUENCE people or something.

It was actually Dark Empire (Shadows of the Empire took place between Empire and Jedi), but yeah, that happened, and it was even more explicit than you said. The Emperor was the one who ordered the clones made, and he was able to successfully reconnect with them more than once. He even tried to possess Leia's unborn child at the end, but was blocked by Jedi Mater Ploat Devisa[footnote]not actually the name used in the comic[/footnote].

Edit: Come to think of it, whose to say that Darth Plagueis didn't live several thousand years before the movies implied? Weirder things have happened in the EU. And going from Dark Empire
He could have successfully possessed an unborn Sidious, the way he un-successfully tried to possess an unborn Anakin Solo.

I'm sorry, but much like The Phantom, it would be easier to make everyone THINK you're somehow the same person for years on end, when you are actually a longstanding tradition of similar people that come in every generation to sow their mischief.

It is a matter of fact that although there IS a tale regarding a serum that allows for eternal life, such a concoction is discovered to be a volitile concoction that can only be performed using a particular rare plant which responds to force-sensitive people and, in fact, flourishes because of the force. Said concoction, in fact, produces a monstrous and canniballistic state after some time as well as a degeneration of the mind as a mutation of the plant takes you over from the inside. The only way to then hope to come out of it alive and intact is to then sacrifice a force sensitive - a Jedi, in fact - in order to complete the formula. The book in question is called Red Harvest, and I looked into it more for its horror aspect than Star Wars fanhood, but that in mind...it's a good story.

Getting back to business, I seem to recall there being something about uhhh...cloning technology, and that the Emperor had indeed been cloned.

I personally think its kind of meh. I mean, Star Wars, especially the EU, ALREADY revolves around the same handful of characters and legacies, no need to go speculating that those same handful of legacies actually were super important even thousands of years ago.

Ah, Shadow was the one with Xizor then. It was the only title that was coming to mind for some reason, thanks for clearing that up.
