Capture the cure

The survivors have a timelimit to find 4 different antidotes. They all have different timelimits so one guy needs an antidote after 5min while the next one might not need in for another 3 min. I'f you don't get cured you become a special infected. :p

Boomer Run.
1 survivor with a frying pan, 7 boomers.
No common infected.
Boomers must race to the end of the map without dying.

Wait... so does that mean that there are no boomer hordes? 'Cause that actually sounds like a good idea, every time the survivor kills one, a horde is summoned.

-Marksman Mode-

All surviors are armed with sniper rifles (maybe pistols) from start to finish but every now and then there will be random trapped people surrounded by zomibes in the distance. You could leave them and continue on or cover them as they wait for there own evac chopper by takeing out certain targets or killing some of the attacking zomibes. If you succeed the chopper will save the people you were covering and then drop ammo, med kits, bombs or even new or more powerful weapons to you.

If you don't...well that sucks for them and you because a random horde\tank attack will try to overrun your postiton.

A mode where the infected and the survivors sit down and have a tea party, while discussing political issues with one another.

IT'S SUPER CIVILIZED!

Spartan-II mode. You play as four Spartans thought lost on Reach (or Onyx in DLC, giving you the Spartan-III armour choice), and have to survive against waves and waves of Infected like in Survival, but get to use plasma weapons too.

Or Jak mode - you play as Jak, Daxter and any two randomly chosen Jak 2-and-onwards characters fighting Infected in Haven City. Other levels could be like Survival mode but set in the Wasteland and in the other areas of the later Jak games.

Otherwise, I guess any crossover would be good ;) (hint hint to any Valve people here...).

Corridor mode. You and the rest of the survivors run though an endless corridor with way points every 500 meters at the start of each way point the difficulty is raised and new special infected are added to the game.
Get as far as possible without dying.

Just for all the people complaining about the game not being hard enough:
Suicide mode.
-one health pack at the beginning of the level.
-tank punch is an instant Incap.
-Smokers and hunters can incapacitate in 10 seconds.
-regular zombies do 20 damage.
-2 incaps and your dead.
-witch kills instantly.
-one pipe bomb and one moly per level
-more frequent horde attacks
-two random tank spawns per level.
-no additional ammo besides safe rooms.
-friendly fire is an instant incap(pistols do 50 damage).
-The finale has a horde spawn with the tank.

Realistic (or Realism, don't remember the name) is kind of a more... well... realistic gamemode, I still dont know the details but imagine the diference beetwen the regular COD4 multiplayer and the Hardcore COD4 multiplayer
In COD4 Hardcore mode you can eat less bullets than in regular mode. I would imagine that playing on realistic in L4D2 would be like playing COD4 on Veteran. You die and die die die die die die die and then the controller dies.

A 16 player mode, 2 people play as Tanks, and fight to the death. The other 14 players bet on who will win. The losing tank is eliminated, and the people who bet wrongly have a quarter of their health taken out for their fight as a Tank.

How about the "actual zombie apocalypse" mode? It's where you can get bitten once before turning into a zombie, headshots are the only way to kill them, and your character will crouch in a corner and whimper one out of three large encounters. And there are no respawns, melee weapons are shit, and getting within two feet of a flaming zombie will set you on fire (which kills you in about 15 seconds). Also, you have no experience with guns, so you take a good 10 seconds to reload, you have no reticule, recoil seriously screws up your aim, and your gun isn't always pointing at the center of the screen.

A good game mode for me would be to give the survivors actual classes or their own abilities like the girl can hold two med packs, coach can carry pipe bomb and molitave or even just has m ore life.

another would be to maybe like separate the survivors in the beginning in teams of two and have them regroup then escape.

Rush Mode: Select which tier 2 weapon you want at the start of the mission and your choice of starting grenade. Ammo is infinite (reloading required), grenades arae infinite as well but are on a minute cooldown timer. There's a permenant adrenaline effect. Common and uncommon infected are frequently spawning and rushing toward you. There are no idle zombies. Special infected would need tweaks but otherwise this would be run and gun at an extreme level. The whole damn game would be a crescendo event with provisions made so that you can actually survive it such as completely removing stun lock.

Mutators, Random freeroam thingie (Which would be tremendously linier, but hey.) and perhaps a crazy arcade style game mode where you get points.

1) Not a good idea, I've not seen one invidivual not go through less than 2 med kits or a whole lot of pills since the game came out.
2) Expert
3) Expert no?
4) Expert
5) 1 less than 3, not much of a shlep.
6) Expert
7) Pretty much expert until you hit a safe room or get lucky.
8) Expert
9) Expert
10) Fair enough, have fun pushing zombies for 3 quarters of the level.
11) Fair enough. I wouldn't appreciate it so much. But then you did call it suicide mode.
12) Expert

Hmmm.. Here's my idea.

You or one of your fellow survivors is infected with the virus, and the survivors must find out who the infected one is, all the while fighting off other infected from the outside.
Kinda like the Parasite maps in WC3.

A shotgun-blast to the face would make that problem go away fast.

British mode, where you take on a more British approach to survival and lock yourself in the nearest pub and share one gun between the whole group.
