Creating a "Local Legend"

I've had this idea in my head for a fair bit but never got round to seriously considering it:

Basically, I'm considering creating a "local legend", I'm willing to do a fair bit of dirty work to do this, but nothing over the top (I'm not going to go on a killing spree for example)

So I think what I need is a kind of theme, any suggestions?
I want to know what kind of outfit would creep you out the most
what kind of patterns do you find particularly creepy? (I.E Leaving various creepy dolls around the place)

just throw down what you would find scariest about a local legend in your area.

Extra info :

Been doing parkour for around 5 years, can run away from pretty much anyone in my town

This town has never experience anythhing fairly creepy before

Local gangs may have to be in on this so they don't stab me assuming i'm the SCAREH' DEMON GUY EVERYONE'S TALKIN' BOUT

Anyway, Ideas, Suggestions etc, let it fly!

Well, first. I would recommend against that because others may not appreciate the prank and shoot you, stab you, beat you, or arrest you. Second, I would say GO FOR IT DUDE!!! (Seriously though, I recommend against it.

Guns are highly illegal here and it's very unlikely to see one especially in my town.
Beating me and Arresting me is generally out of the question, parkour for 5 years :/

More likely to get stabbed then lol, and being stabbed before doesn't level your durability skill

Or sneak around and leave some kind of distinctive calling card everywhere, and let people wonder who the hell is doing it.

I think you should go with some sickly-looking faceless porcelain dolls. Those are creepy as fuck. I mean, that and wear some freaky animal-mask... Like a donkey or something, to show that you are indeed incredibly deranged and have taken a rather harmless animal and turned it into something twisted.

That, and also you could legitimately call yourself "The Ass".

as for the stabbings, I have a good idea of the "high danger" areas, houses of people who are most likely to react aggressively etc, it'll be hard but worth it if I pull it off.

I have pretty good access to the roofs of most anything here thanks to the parkour, so I could probably make it seem like something BIG was going down, painting demonic symbols in red on roofs etc.

I'll try and keep it legal obviously, and if I get TOO well known to the exent of paranoia I WILL stop completely.

Create some sort of restless spirit that routinely changes something big and visible in your town--like a prominent billboard, or the traffic light in the center of town, or the steps of city hall, or something that lots of people see every day. I'd recommend against paint (knowing most places it will stay there for a month before anyone does anything about it), but writing a cryptic message with shaving cream or silly string would be perfect. Do it every Tuesday night, or something. And do it in costume--I am partial to karate kid skeleton hoodlum outfits, but you could use anything flashy that hides your identity. The costume is for when people start noticing and try to spot you in the act--it will give them something else to talk about. If they start getting good at following you, pick some scary place in your area to lead them back to.

It doesn't have to be destructive--you could string a piece of rope between two street lamps so that it spans the road in the middle of town (high enough so that cars don't hit it--otherwise the early morning commuters will knock it down before anyone gets to see it), and hang random, creepy, blair witch stuff on it that you make from twigs from the park nearby.

My sister and I, for an entire summer, used to wander the neighborhoods around my town leaving fake flowers in everyone's mailboxes in the middle of the night. Eventually we ran out of money to do it, but if you can come up with something cheap and noticeable you can get people talking for years to come. The important thing is to do it with marked regularity.

Also, what might prove effective is graffiti. In my hometown, i regularly came across a "wonderful" on a wall, all over town. That wasnt creepy, but my friends and i wondered what it was supposed to mean, though it faded from my memory when i moved outta town. If you manage to write/paint something creepy on strange, but visible places you even might make it into the local newspaper.

More drastic approach: Leave dead animals in front of specific houses, all over town. That is if you have access to such kind of stuff...and if you do, i dont really wanna know

Kidnap people and leave really random stuff (dolls, headcrab plushies, etc) where they were last seen. Might not be the most legal thing to do, but you'd create a legend fairly quickly.

What about Leaving notes and organising meet ups and such in scary abandoned places?
Over-done, uber cheesy or actually a good idea?
