Creative Challenges

[Alleged Despair]

I have an odd habit of making up my own little personal challenges while playing video games, especially those which I have beaten many times. For example right now I am attempting to beat Bioshock on hard without spending any adam at all. Does anyone else do this? Name a couple if you do.

I mostly do this with sandbox games, like seeing how many bears I can kill with my knife without dying in red dead or how big of a chain explosion I can cause in GTA.

Finish the main quest of Oblivion only using the items you get in the opening cave.

When I've kicked a game's ass too many times, I set up challenges for myself. Like in RE5, I went through the whole game on the hardest difficulty only using the beginner pistol with unlimited ammo(since in the cutscenes THATS ALL THEY HAVE!)
Also in SCC, I've done it with only melee and without being detected.

ah that reminds of when I went through Dead Space on impossible with only the plasma cutter. It took me a hundred tries to figure out how to kill a brute with that thing.

I don't do it myself, but I've seen vids of people doing stuff like God of War full runs without getting upgrades.
On the hardest difficulty.
Without getting hit. Ever.

How far are you now, and how often are you dying? I can't imagine trying somewhere like Fort Frolic without any upgraded plasmids...

I actually just saved and stopped at the very beginning of fort frolic earlier today so we'll see how that goes. And actually so far I've died around five times; all from fighting big daddies except I died one time while waiting for the lazarus vector to brew.

Oh god, you tried to kill Randy with your fists?! Me and a friend struggled to take him down with painkillers, defilers and drillers. You're either incredibly foolish or you have gargantuan balls of steel.

Me and the same friend once did a melee run through of Halo CE. Went great until we got to The Library.

still the hardest boss fight is the one with your dad, running of to drink water is a bad strategy when 7 pikeman are trying to turn you into Kebab!

Aren't there points where you have to use adam to open doors or grab things with your mind? And isn't there a part where you lose all your weapons and you have to fight with plasmids?

I call foul. You can't spend no Adam in that game and get to the end. If nothing else, the early door that you have to zap open requires some.

1.I said without spending adam not without using plasmids.
There are several plasmids you get for free by just finding them, not buying them with adam. and 3 of them are required by the plot (electrobolt 1, telekinesis and incinerate 1) There also some tonics you can pick up lying around rapture for free
2. when you do lose all your weapons you still get to keep your wrench so theoretically you could fight without plasmids (but who would want to). Also I recently discovered an exploit so you can keep your weapons for that fight
