Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it be awesome if a lot of our favorite games had a create-a-map mode or something similar? Kind of like the Left 4 Dead ones, but for all platforms. Creativity can actually keep a person playing for quite some time. For instance, in Minecraft or Halo 3 or Reach, you might spend hours creating a single map or structure. I'd just like to get other peoples' views on this idea. I'm not saying to have creativity in every game, but for games that it can actually work with like Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty (maybe,) or even Assassin's Creed (singleplayer for practice on targets, or multiplayer to have fun with friends.)

I Love creative modes, and I feel cheated when a map/scenario editor is left out of a Strategey game. probably due to my first strategy experiences being Age of Empires

Yeah... I think my first game to even have a create-a-map mode was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Nintendo 64.

Well, I wouldnt say no, i like the idea, but from a publishing point of view, id say how much is it going to cost?

And do you really think EA and Activision are going to let players create their own content? It would ruin their DLC market, plus make the customer less likely to buy a new game if there free new stuff coming out on the old one.

I dont think ive seen a good map creator apart from littlebigplanet since Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 (SC2 maybe?), and id love to see it included. I just dont think it will be, not in the games you want anyway.

They could try being generous?

But seriously having player made maps and gametypes can be a really good thing and personally I think it would attract more people to the game. I know I personally would love to play Halo: Reach just for the sake of all the player made maps, some of which are really good and look really fun to play, and I don't even like Halo that much.
