So I'm completely confused as to where WW2 comes into the picture >.>
But, as I said, the poem would fit if used for WW2.
Time to sleep off my confusion <3

Ok I just remembered what it was. I'm not sure if it was WW2 but either way it was a good poem. it was Called First they Came

First they Came...
First they came for the Communists,
and I didn?t speak up,
because I wasn?t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn?t speak up,
because I wasn?t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn?t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

That was the one I thought they were referring to.

This is why I love PC gaming. My Team Fortress 2 server of choice not only allows pornographic and/or offensive sprays, it actively encourages them. Basically, the only thing that they actually care about is a certain word starting with the letter N. Long as you avoid that word, you can spew just about any other form of insanity and be totally kosher.
That wouldn't happen to be the Bar Room Heroes server, would it?

Anyway, you folks need to lighten up. It's just a joke.
Brother of the Slaughter actually.

And perhaps I wasn't 100% clear, the server allows such freedom because it is always done in good fun. Should douchebaggery rear its ugly head, the mods are often quick to tell the player to knock it off or gtfo. Its not the action (or spray) that is deemed offensive, it's the intention behind it.

I find this amusing and agree that anyone with one of these avatars is worthy of a ban and as such derserve their punishment. Unorignal immature manchildren.

Seriously people. Hands up if you knew this comic was sardonic.
*Hand-up*
OT: I think anyone who uses a swastika should be banned. Partly because It takes no originality, and is overdone, but mainly because in Germany, that shit is illegal. You can't expect this to be passed by. It's insensitive, and 90% of the people who were banned won't know what they've been banned for. Which is a fucking disgrace.
This right here, this is the only fucking comment which should have appeared when news stories announced the Swastika ban. Rather than all the comments about restricted freedoms and "I've paid for the service so why can't I be as bigger dick as I want to be on it?" that were posted.

I liked this comic. Never been too crazy about the art style, but it's pretty funny.

Also,

Certain people need too take a look at this.

On PC, I've seen nothing stupid, immature or offensive. I've seen decent uses of original one layer emblems, I've seen creations bordering on APB crazy-awesomeness, and I've seen plenty of ones in between, where people have recreated flags, badges and insignias.

I myself remade this:

To go with my Playercard and Image as a "Dirty Commie!" (Thanks, certain American Players. Thanks)

EDIT: I also find it completely hilarious that in a thread a couple of days ago, most people were fine with swatsikas because they have more meanings, and now all the complaints here because the author of this comic used a poem about the holocaust?
There is a difference between a symbol of hate being seen and people going "OMG" and people seeing something parodying the holocaust and people going "OMG".

Believe it or not, people care about that stuff.

I'd just like to say that I proudly report all the players who have those stupid naked blond girl emblems.

The first time I saw one, I didn't report it cause I thought "Hey, that's kinda creative. He's probably just trying to piss people off, but it's still creative, so I'll let it slide." And then I saw it 30 more times and I realized it really wasn't that creative. So now I report them all.

Yes, this is beautiful.

Microsoft can go too far. Remember when the banned a kid for having the gamertag Richard Gaywood, and it turned out to be his real name? But it's their right as a service provider, just as the Escapist has the right to ban me if I start hailing Hitler (it's for a period piece, I swear).

Games are under too much scrutiny so we need to err on the side of caution, here.

Plus, even if some people would use swastikas in a responsible and meaningful way, for each one of those there is a Germany's worth of idiots who'll do it for the lulz.

I don't get it why people are asking me to think about Microsoft? I'm from the republic of me, and I don't give a damn if it's good for Microsoft or anyone else for that matter. MS is being a massive **** by banning Swastikas and penises and bestiality.

I don't think it's that big an issue (the bans, that is), it's hardly as though you can't enjoy the game using an emblem held in higher regard.

On a side note, this comic really reminded of the poem Not my Business, which I had to study for GCSE English, anyone else familiar with it?

Your rights as citizen of the USA doesn't end just because you are in the realm of a corporate or any private area/program. You can't be discriminated against because of race, creed or sexual orientation, that includes if your creed is being a douche bag.

I love how half the comments section completely missed the point of this comic...

One could even say it was a...

Critical Miss

Honestly, if the comic didn't set it off, what about the essay that they wrote in the post?

best one so far.

I applaud it whole-heartedly. Of course that poem is in poor taste! It's supposed to be! It's supposed to illustrate just how stupid it is to argue on the side of allowing such images and just how little a deal it is to put douchebags in their place.

I think banning players who make swastikas is fine. They set out to offend like the immature trolls they are - and they did offend people. Ergo, that deserves a ban on those grounds.

If X-box Live got rid of the immature, the racists, the screamers and singers and the homophobes - I say more power to them because Live would be better off without them.

Love the comic haha =P

But ya I'm not particularly offended by them either, but I can see why Microsoft doesnt want people putting stuff like that all over the place.

Yes! Thank you. What did they expect anyway? That we will be mature and not do that shit?
