This is the part where her mind explodes from the awesomeness. How many people get into a car accident while Link is riding by? I can only name two people.

Her and the Michaels.

And I don't think the Michaels could seeing as Link caused it.

Captcha: seetan strategy

Agreed. Quite the Satan's Strategy to kill the Michaels. But Lazer Cat prevailed.
I read this post several times over and I still have no fucking clue what you're saying, man.

Guys, Link isn't actually there. Both drivers are still in the cars, protected by the airbag. She was in the passenger seat and wasn't wearing a seatbelt and is clearly either dead, or having some sort of trance while unconscious (related to gaming, seeing as she's a gaming journalist).
If you watched Doomsday Arcade episode four you'll get it.

You don't know if he's there or not as simply put if Grey Carter wants Link to help Erin after a crash he can because his Comic, his Story.

With all the...well for a lack of a better word, "downsizings" (read: Daily Drop, Top 5 with Lisa Foiles) I'm left thinking that they are going to kill of Stout and Critical Miss. I dearly hope I'm wrong because I love reading the little strips and appreciate the humour.
It should be pointed out that Daily Drop wasn't cancelled, as there were only a limited number of videos to begin with. It just sort of ended, like a first season. Whether or not they continue for a second season is a)if the numbers for the first season were good enough to warrent renewing it and b) if the LRR Crew is willing to drop a good 10 grand to rent the slow-mo camera for another week

Before we get any more of these women driver jokes, I'd like to point out she wasn't driving the car, assuming this IS set in America =)

But seriously, this seems bad. I hope she's not dead =(
Very true, she was obviously in the passenger seat. The driver of the car is even visible. However, the fact that she got thrown clear through the windshield over the hood and onto the sidewalk does make one thing very evident: Erin wasn't wearing her seat-belt *tsk, tsk,*.

I... Don't get it. I really don't get it. I don't get what this has to do with anything and i don't get why people are assuming this is the end of the comic, especially as how two weeks ago we were told there were going to be more story-focused comics from now on. Unless this is the Escapist's typical way of ending something with a very confusing "lolwut", á la the way Gamedogs (and partly Doraleous) ended. I'll be sad if that's the case. Not only because i enjoyed this comic, but also because it will be remembered for nothing more than its constant weekly topical gaming satire instead of any real story or character development. Que sera sera, i suppose.

Things that kinda tell me she might be dead are:

Notice after "Link" grabs her hand to pull her up? Every frame after has this white fuzziness around it.

Also note when she talks. The way the black text bubbles are all 8-bitish. Even the words are like that.

Then comes the crashed car in front of the pole. Notice a splotch of blood on that thing? Probably the result of cranial impact. Ouch...

I hope I'm just looking too deep into this, but if they cancel another of my fav series, I'm going to cry
I'll have even less reason to visit this site... leading them to cancel more things... this could spiral out of control.

Not to mention it'd be a really silly way to go out. I do not approve.

Just to put some minds at rest here (and doubtlessly disappoint others) as far as I'm aware Critical Miss is not ending.

I really hope this turns out Ok... Somehow.
Also, is it just me or Erin just getting cuter and cuter?

I'm okay with Link showing up to by spirit guide through the afterlife. I mean I'd be even more okay if it was Samus (in her suit dang it) or The Doctor but Link is a pretty awesome option.

I know that Daily Drop wasn't cancelled, but I didn't really have a better word for it at the time.

Because the main character appears to be dead? The "go" in "it's dangerous to go alone" seems to reference a journey to the afterlife?
?
So... it's not dangerous to go to the afterlife with other people? I still don't understand what that phrase or even the comic itself has to do with Erin being dead or the assumption this would be (we now know it's not, of course) the end of the comic. She might be badly injured, or may not have been driving, but i don't think there's anything there to specifically infer that she's actually dead. Hallucinations are typical of a near death experience when the brain is starved of oxygen after all. Not that i'm nit-picking with you personally, it just came as a bit of a surprise to me that the comments seemed to have a unanimous belief that Erin would be dead and / or it signified the end of the comic. Very bizarre.

I'm looking forward to finding out what the deal actually is and what caused the accident, though. Here's hoping it's the start of big plot arc.
