Okay fine, to be honest I'd say the Mario Galaxy games. They were okay, but reviewers were throwing perfect scores left and right. In fact, I think those are the highest rated games on Gamerankings, at least they were...

I don't mind that you a couple of really good games on the list, to each their own and I can completely understand why some one would not like said games.

What I don't get is why you list every indie game as something you didn't like. Really? Every indie game? No flash games, no free ware games, no mods, no Amnesia, no super meat boy, no Bastion, really? That's a way too broad of a generalization for me to accept. Plus it sounds a little snooty once you think about it. "If the game cost less than fifty million to make and advertise, it isn't worth my time." That's what that sound like to me.

As for what I think is over rated, Killzone 2 was simply unplayable for me. I wasn't expecting a perfect game, but the weapon design simply pissed me off. Three different types of machine gun, barely any difference between them, the shotgun didn't even kill with one shot when you were at point blank range. It just pissed me off.

He's asking which critically acclaimed games I don't like. The fact it was my first post doesn't matter. These are those acclaimed games I don't like. There are still plenty of acclaimed games left that were not mentioned. Oh btw., I forgot to add the Assassin's Creed series.

Having one post makes it much more likely you are using a throwaway account, so dont blame me if i dont trust you.

I made a entirely new account, and immediatly went into a topic in which a Flame War was likely to develop, Made a post which would likely start said flame war, refused to defend myself in any feasible way, and started Troll-Calling other people when someone might have found me out.

I never said you cant like games, what i said is that you said that you disliked nearly every single popular game in the last 10 years aside from Half Life and Mario. If this IS true, then you would only likely play about 5 different games. If not, go ahead and prove me wrong.

So let me get this straight. I list a bunch of game series I don't like which make up,say 5% of the total games (and that's probably being REALLY generous) available, and in your mind that would leave me with about 5 different games to play? I feel sorry for you if you believe this.

And its not like i play low-visibility games. I mean, i play Dwarf Fortress. You dont get much further out of view than Dwarf Fortress.

Halo, Guitar Hero/Rock Band, EVERYTHING NINTENDO, God of War, Gears of War... need I go on?

That and what I can't stand in terms of over-hype are as follows

- Any shooter of "modern" build (regenerating health, 2 weapon limit, grey/brown... I'm so sick of it)

- most rhythm games (like Guitar Hero and Rock band... they're so boring and simple I think you should be shot if you say they're "hard")

- almost everything Nintendo has currently made... Zelda is just too samey, Mario is more of the same boring crap with no challenge anymore (See: Japanese Mario 2) Metroid is... well Other M... *shudder* and Brawl... Please I play REAL fighting games where playing with Brawl controls is regarded as "Simple Mode"

- Most racing games... they're all pretty much the same with different cars these days, and Mario Kart IS the same every time (with little gimmicks that don't change the fact that it's whoever gets the most red shells/Golden Mushrooms wins)

- And lastly, MMO's... I'm sorry but I just don't see the appeal of doing the same 3 quests OVER AND OVER AND OVER again... This goes for All MMO's and games that want to BE MMO's... Like WoW, The Witcher, and a good majority of Facebook Games

I'll go for Final Fantasy 10 as well. It's not a bad game, it's just not something I'd ever think to play. If I plug my PS2 in wanting to play a FF game it's going to be 12. Arkham Asylum never really did it for me either, again it's not a bad game but it has to compete with the Devil May Cry and God of War series which I much prefer.

Well, 7 was just, idk, i just didn't get into it, although part of that may be because i wasn't able to get a copy til much later, as for 12, it wasn't really the same final fantasy, it was a good game just not what my brain was thinking it was going to be, maybe now i have a more open mind i might try it but... yeah.

Yeah I didn't get a copy of 7 until I'd heard a lot about it but I still thought it was a pretty good game, I'd really recommend giving 12 a fair chance though. It's by far my favourite JRPG. I will admit it's very different so purists might not like it as much but for me it works extremely well.
