Cross Overs....I see a trend starting....Gears of War in Lost Planet 2?

In fighting games nothing is new about seeing Snake in Smash Bros Brawl or Darth Vader in that other androgynous fighting game I...for some reason...can't recall the name...?

Anyways, now it seem you'll be able to play Marcus Fenix (if I spelled the name wrong, well it's not like it wasn't spelled wrong in the first place...lol) and his crew from Gears of War in the upcoming Lost Planet 2 as bonus costumes.

Although I'm also left wondering what I wouldn't mind seeing, as much of a commercial stunt as it might just well be.

The key word there being "good". I myself love crossover as long as it's reasonably believable that the 2 fictional worlds could be crossed over. Randomly throwing two (or more) fictional worlds together just doesn't work.

Thats actually pretty cool, as long as they don't make it blatantly obvious in game ("MARCUS FENIX? THE ONE THAT SAVED SERA?!?") and just keep it as something like a cameo in a movie it would be quite badass.

On a side note, I'd love to see some Brotherhood of Steel armor suits in some other game.

It's not spelled wrong... Fenix is the scandinavian spelling of Phoenix, and since the Gears universe is one were humans originate from Sera and not Earth, you don't know if it is spelled right or wrong for them.

OT: Looks pretty cool, I like both Gears and Lost Planet, so this could be pretty fun. But why is there snow in the trailer though, isn't the planet supposed to be heated up for number 2?

As i said a bit earlier, i'd like to see Ratchet and Clank to make a cameo appearance in PS3 version of Just Cause 2. As a downloadable player model, maybe? And to compensate, they could have ODST Rookie for X360 version. And they could also make a deal with Valve to have TF2 Sniper in a Steam version.

...or the guy from Resistance (who's name I forget).

For a fighting game, I'd liek to see Telltale vs Nintendo/Sega. I can already see Max beating the shit out of Sonic & Homestar dropkicking Mario like a Cheat.

Or some kind of comedy shooter involving Serious Sam & Duke Nukem.
