It's been done before, but never on something that was a huge release. I would like to see more of it, and I would like to know what the teeming masses think of it.

One of the best solutions I've heard is to allow the console players to log into the PC servers, but not vise-versa to prevent people from trying to get easy kills.
I really think there is a lot to be gained here, Console players could benefit from custom maps, and everyone gets access to a larger player base.
