There really aren't any rules to this game, you can be serious or ridiculous. List the games you used and tell us what will be used from the games, even if the titles and elements are obvious.

Halo-Life 2, you play a mute protagonist shooting up aliens to save the world somehow...oh wait neither of those changed....oh well I tried.

Conker's Fantasy X

Instead of having deep and tormented feelings over all the female characters in the game, Conker instead belittles them, makes obscene gestures, and explains in great depth what he'd like to do to Yuna if no one was watching.

Half-Shock, Half Life 2 and Bioshock. Gordon freeman gets trapped in Kraken Base and must deal with the unleashed patients of a treatment to cure headcrab zombies. Needless to say, it didn't work.

Demon's Faction: A fog has spred over Mars and Demon's have invaded it is up to the Red Faction to wear heavy armour, wield spears, and take down their demonic oppressors with large explosions.

Katamari Damacy and Halo. You play as Master Cheif. Instead of using guns you roll around a ball to collect and kill aliens. When the ball gets big enough it goes up into space and forms a ring that is capable of killing all life in the universe. Thats game of the year material huh?

World of Roller Coaster Tycoon. (RCT and WoW) You create a theme park in a mythical alternate world. You can visit other's park's online. There's a LOT of grinding.

I have thought of this for a long time:

Take Fallout 3's open area
Zeno Clash's hand to hand / melee combat
Gears of War's long range combat
Combine Mass Effect and Diablo's leveling system
Add spells from Midas Magic for Oblivion
Mix in L4D's ability to have 20-30 enemies on screen at once.
Add a team like in Mass Effect, but give them good AI.
Have an atmosphere as good as Bioshock's

Voila, wondergame.
