Crown to Kim Dotcom: No You Can't Have Your Stuff Back Yet

More government bullying, says Dotcom.

Back in 2012 Kim Dotcom's property was have his stuff back [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/118975-Kim-Dotcom-Raid-Video-Goes-Public], as the High Court rejected applications from the Crown to keep hold of it a while longer. But the Crown has filed an 11th hour appeal against that ruling, so Dotcom won't get his belongings back just yet.

"Breaking News," some very interesting things to say [https://twitter.com/KimDotcom/status/461359328193048576] about the 2012 raid, if asked.

"The John Key government will try anything to stop the Internet Party," claims Dotcom [https://twitter.com/KimDotcom/status/461709034324631554]. "National fears we might pick the next government." If Dotcom gets his stuff back, particularly the cash, a lot of it will go to fund the Internet Party.

While Dotcom's extradition case [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133287-Kim-Dotcom-Launches-New-Zealands-Internet-Party] has yet to be heard.

So... they're openly admitting that this entire expensive legal ordeal is primarily for the purpose of political gain?

Good.

I'd hate for them to pretend otherwise <:

I am not really a fan of Kim or anything, but goddamn when the people trying to shut him down seem to be run by an 8 year old throwing tantrum it's hard not to be on his side

Holy shit, all of this stuff is still going on? It's been so long since it started that I had completely forgotten.

I share the sentiment. Hopefully it all backfires spectacularly.

I'm irked that a few commenters on this issue preface their opinion with "I don't like Kim but..." Disappointing that people are that afraid of being judged by others. Kim is in the right here and that's all there is to it.

Well he may have a legal loophole to (possibly) be in the right in this particular instance (or not). That is not "all there is to it", not by a long shot. He can still get extradited to the US and never see the light of day again. So there is still a silver lining to look forward to :)

You're the 6th post in and one guy said that....yea.
And people preface their opinions on it because it kind of is a mixed issue. A lot of people understand that how the governments and organizations involved really cocked up the situation. And how it really became a scary thing on how big companies can really bend the arm of the law to use as a force. People understand that, but a lot of people also understand that Kim is kind of a huge dirtbag.

Kim is no angel, but he is completely right in this case and seems like US is doing anything it can to make this farse last as long as possible.

I know I keep all my illicit data stored in my car. It's a bit of a hassle to get the car up and into my second floor apartment, but it's worth the trouble. No one in their right mind would think to look there.

If he does get extradited i won't be sorry to see him go and besides if he goes all the commentators on the Whale Oil Beef Hooked blog including me will be cheering and celebrating because he's hated on that site and we want him to go.
Because we're united in our loathing of him and anyone who's paid a visit to him to discuss working with him.
