Anyway, Take a Walk is a short Rhythm and an 'artsy' game, that doesn't require you to follow with the beat, it just helps.
The game does not follow much of a story, it is only there for interpretation. The game starts out slow, real slow, with you taking your casual stroll, trying to figure out what you are supposed to be actually doing, it does have instructions down the bottom, but skipping over them is more fun.
In Take a Walk, all you do is walk to the right, jump over obstacles and collect music notes and treble clefs, all to an accompanying music sound track. The closest Genre it could be described as is a rhythm game, but you don;t have to hit a note to keep the song going, just holding the right button and dodge the barrels in your path.
This game, does not pose much of a challenge, you can't die, you can't lose. There is only two ways to do something wrong, one is stop holding down right, or to miss time a jump, and end up stuck, which you lose your multiplier (The amount of Birds on the screen), and have to hold the left button, which reverses the time, and the song. An interesting mechanic.
As I said earlier, this game does lack a distinct story, but is clear if you think about it. You start off as an over worked office worker, who decides to take a break one day, and listen to some calming music and walk. He realises the enjoyment in it, and begins to pick up the pace, of the music and his walking. Then, he finally sees the relaxation walking and taking a break gives. At least, that is my interpretation of it...
Overall, this game was fun while it lasted, the soundtrack is very good, and I believe made by the game creator, and the art style is very simplistic, only using a sharp black colour. It is not very long though, only lasting for three levels, which can be blasted through in around 3 minutes, and doesn't provide much, if any, difficulty.
But it was fun. If you have a speaker or headphones available, I suggest playing this game, and trying to play it in time with the music.
