After watching an enticing advertisement, I thought about how cool being on a cruise ship for a week or two would be.

I like boats, I like swimming pools and I like poker. I guess this appeals to me as I live here:

There seems to be a distinct lack of oceanic vacations available in my province. Now I would, of course, do some research before dishing out my cash but it seems attractive to me.

So, Escapist community, would you pay for a week or two on a cruise liner? Assume that all the food is free and there is some free entertainment that is included in your ticket.

If you do want to go on a cruise, explain why.

If you don't want to go on a cruise, explain why not.

Yeah, but you've got more lakes than the rest of the world combined. Why don't you just go swimming? lol

I don't want to go on a cruise, because the people on the cruise are boring as shit. The most interesting man in the world would never be caught dead on a cruise shit... i mean ship.

Why pay for an expensive cruise when you can just build your own boat? Sure the sea monsters will tear it to shreds and you'll wash up on an island inhabited by cannibals, but it will be worth it. But in all seriousness, I don't think I would be able to stand it on a cruise ship. I'm not very fond of nature so I would most likely spend the entire trip in my cabin and I don't think I would be able to resist the urge to scream ice burg at the top of my lungs.

A cruise would be a lot of fun if you have the right people! Problem is getting your friends to take vacation at the same time. Would someone special be with you? I'm betting most of the people there have boyfriends/girlfriends already. I grew up watching Titanic so my opinion is biased and I have high hopes for cruises.

You may be confusing Saskatchewan with Ontario. We have a few lakes here and there but most of them aren't that nice...

That and it seems we are destined to live in perpetual rain until October. I don't know about you but I don't enjoy swimming during a thunder and/or hail storm.

Cruises are awesome, my advice though is to make sure you are legally able to drink and gamble before going on or else they aren't as fun.

IMO, cruises are absolutely amazing. I've taken one to Mexico and one the Hawaii, and I loved both of them. There are plenty of things to do on the ship, especially if you go with a group of good friends or just look for someone new to hang out with. And, of course, the point of cruises is to go to different ports and check them out, and because you never stay too long at one place, you don't really have a chance to get bored with where you're staying because there's so new place every day where you can go to the beach or check out a town or do some coke or whatever it is you like doing on vacation.

I don't like water, and I don't like being on boats, so no cruise for me.
