This. Besides, it's not like Crysis is the Second Coming of vidjagaming (that's my new favorite term), so I'm less excited about this than I am about the L4D2 announcement.Skizle said:if most computers can barely run Crisis then what makes them think a more advanced engine will be playable on consoles?
why not put it on a PC it won't cost them anything besides PC players don't excatly have good things to say about the GOW PC experienceZippyDSMlee said:Is it going to be less of a engine test and more of a game than the last one?
I am surprised they are putting it on PC Epic gave up for GOW2...I guess they can afford it...
Okay compared to WoW it's a low sales figure but almost 1.5 million copies...that's not bad, and I think that's the US sales alone not including download purchases.oliveira8 said:Also...the reason that Crysis didn't sell that much, its cause they made a game for power house computers.
Crysis is to be played above high settings. MAny people don't have that type of PC so they A)Pirate it B)Don't Buy.
Just saying Epic had the ability to snub the PC port of GOW2 just cause they could, Cryisis can't do it because they don't have the cash and brand power...jamesworkshop said:why not put it on a PC it won't cost them anything besides PC players don't exactly have good things to say about the GOW PC experienceZippyDSMlee said:Is it going to be less of a engine test and more of a game than the last one?

Learn to aim.bjj hero said:How powerful are the weapons on crysis? Im tired of shooters where I need half a clip to down an enemy.
QFT the problem was that people couldn't run the game maxed and this hurt their feelings in fact you can't even today, 2560x1600 with AA is out of reach of current hardware.Malygris said:Learn to aim.bjj hero said:How powerful are the weapons on crysis? I played Crysis on a decidedly mid-range PC and was quite happy with both the visuals and the performance. Was it max-resolution/ultra-high settings/better-than-real-life eye-bleedingness? No, but it was still awfully damn good, better looking than most while maintaining a high level of playability. The perception that you "need" a high-end PC to properly play Crytek games is simply wrong.
Best idea ever.Brotherofwill said:Drop Crysis and give me Timesplitters 4, in the CryEngine 3 muahhahhahaha.
Crytek is a pretty cool studio, Yerli is a cool dude himself.
I believe their are a few 1080p games and yes you are correct crysis doesn't need to be but the fact still is that consummer hardware cannot yet max crysis.Mr.Tea said:But 2560x1600 is a ridiculously high resolution and you don't need all enthusiast settings to make the game brain-fuckingly good-looking... also the noAF thing is wrong; it's actually 8xAF applied by the game.jamesworkshop said:2560x1600 is twice the pixels of 1080p and how many 1080p games can you think of on the 360/PS3 so PC fans don't worry the biggest part of the cryengine has been its scalabilty considering crysis even supported shader model 2.0 when shader model 4.0 cards were available dumbing down should not be a worry
Plus, no console actually renders at 1920x1080, they just upscale from a lower resolution.
