My damn kingdom for a damn quicksave...

Also prone...

And a decent size game map. And an actual map. And tactical choices. Basically, all the things I liked about Crysis.

I've had it 3 hours, and already I'm sick to death of walking from checkpoints into battles, and that gunship battle at the lab...

I have to wonder if the entire passable area in Crysis 2 would fit inside the tank level of Crysis...
No Prone seriously?

Checkpoints ruin games!

Right. PC gamers are blind apparently.
I don't think they are blind, just pissed. I was a PC gamer for over 10 years, but got tired of sinking ungodly amounts of money into my machines to play a particular game. If I spend upwards of $2000 on a machine, you better believe that I am going to get pissed at a developer who is selling me a port of a console game.
That was a sarcastic replay to Crytek's claim that Crysis 2 is a PC game primarily.

The headlines:

Crytek continues to fail

Message to all pirates (Yarr): Don't even bother.

Judging from what everyone has said, it ain't true. But I couldn't care less. The USP of the first game was it's looks. That ain't a USP, that's just an excuse to push a subpar story through the system. Judging from the demo of the second as well, it's just a balent rip off of COD with Halo reach armor abilities thrown in. Bloody awful even before this made for console bullshit.

So drop this crap and get homefront. Sure it's a massive let down, but at least it's trying harder in terms of story, even if it is red dawn with more patortic swill being thrust at you then any WW2 movie.

Hey Nathan, can you explain then why you are charging $60 for the PC version?? Cause I'm pretty sure that's total bullshit console price.

Oh man that irritates me so much. How f'ing hard is it to change ONE WORD on an intro screen for a PC version?

I do believe that Mr. Camarillo engaged the suit mode known as:

Also, the actions (demo) spoke louder than words (press release) here. It's basically MW3 with dedicated servers.

I mean, the demo was enjoyable enough, it just isn't going to rate a "buy" at sixty bucks from me.

Yes, and that is why the first contest they had was for the 360 version only? And why the demo was out on 360 first?

I still doubt I'll buy this game now, maybe if it is like $10 on Steam. The whole throwing away the original story thing is still bothering me.

Alright, if you developed for the PC first, then why the fuck is everything so console-centric?

Linear levels, very little graphics options, gimped suit, boring and played out setting, call of duty multiplayer...

The engine may be PC focused, but the design screams console game.

Fuck off with the PR bullshit, Crytek. And Escapist, how can you possibly post an article like this without the slightest bit of truth??!? PC first my ASS! Crytek did NOT make it for PC first. It's been stated so many times that they had to scale down the level designs and overall scope of things because consoles can't handle it. And then they didn't even include DX10, let alone DX11, in the PC version. Fuck that, you can't tell me it's a "PC first" game.

Now, I do appreciate what they've done, the game still looks pretty decent, especially on consoles it's probably one of the nicest looking games. But it's still a step backwards from Crysis and Crysis: Warhead.

This is why gamers should never preorder "AAA" titles. Be discriminate with your money and maybe we won't get so many god damn dissapointing cloned games.

Ultimately, the 360 was most definitely the lead format, and they made just didn't bother with the PC version. The first part of that sentence isn't the problem: the second part is. (Just Cause 2 is a console port, and yet its PC version kicks Crysis 2's PC version all over the shop).

Maximum Win.

ROFL.

OT: What a load of shit. They say it's a PC title first, yet they don't even give us the options to change video settings in the game's menus. It may be a good game, but I'm going to wait until it goes down in price before I purchase this one. There are far better titles on the horizon for PC gamers. *Cough* The Witcher 2 *Cough*

Bullshit.

Amusing fact: i live in a country nearby Germany, and can get to Crytek building, throw a Fuck-You-Brick through their window and get back to where i live, all in one day. Oh yes.

Looks like nobody here actually played the FULL game. Unreal how everyone is drawing their assumptions from PR etc. The "dumbed down options" don't bother me, it actually runs on 'high' on my laptop very smoothly, although it does have some big LOD problems which can't be avoided on this hardware. Extreme just sets everything to high like anyone else would do on the game, check the console or the config files... the days of manually selecting low medium high v-high from a huge list are over, especially with the beauty Crytek invoked with this game.

This is first and foremost a PC game. The design decisions reek of it. Go find me a 10-13 hour campaign experience that is seriously engaging most of the way through, and bind it to a soundtrack that ebbs and flows unlike anything (and better than) since the original Halo. To whoever wants to disable HDR, find another game. This isn't for you. I actually walked outside on occasions and stopped to look up through the trees; the effect is chilling and uncanny.

It may play linearly, but the same thrill from Crysis of choosing how to approach the next objective is still there, and improved upon with the binocs. I never really had the need, but when I needed to quickly spot an ammo crate or see who was behind the walls and tag during my stealthy forays, it proved invaluable. The suit AI really gets interesting after a certain point but that's spoilers ;)

It was a day 1 buy for me and I'm glad. It is unparalleled in design and function, and you all can take your dark brown military FPS.

Its absolutely true! Crysis 2 is the most PC focused shooter to date!

Now could someone please show me where the "Start Button" is on my Keyboard so I can get to playing?

Look, we understand it's no longer economically viable to make platform-exclusive titles, but we don't appreciate prevarications.

For Cthulhu's sake, Crisis Wars could support 32 player matches, this tops out at 16... -_-

On one hand, dont base everything of the multi-player demo or the hacked release, they will doubtless be missing a few features, for example graphics tweaking.

On the other, WTF crytek? Removing suit modes and the option to tweak your graphics is just a dick move. On the original Crysis you had 3 pages of graphics options, now you get 3 settings.
They got rid of the LEAN FFS
