Oh hello shit in my pants, I didn't realize you were there.
Seriously to put it in words is impossible. Maybe that $4,500 computer from that quiz on Supreme Commander 2 will be able to run it even if barely.

Install Crysis 2 on Skynet and you win automatically. Give a copy to the borg and watch a borg cube get memory errors. "I can't let you run that Dave."

Beautiful, but not beautiful enough for me to pay the ungodly amount of money it would require for a new computer that would run it.

Meh theres better games on the market. I played through the first one and have never played another crysis game after that. Seriously no matter what diff you'r playing on common cannon fodder shouln't be able to take a headshot from a sniper! And for godsakes you'r a überly trained special force unit who the government spent millions of daollars on and you can't even hold your weapon still lying down?

Ok, and they optimized this so well that, as they claim, it runs flawlessly on the consoles too? We'll see...

It probably won't look quite that good anywhere, but that's fairly common for video games. From what I've heard, CryEngine 3 is mainly an improvement in optimization over CryEngine 2, so hopefully a computer that can run Crysis well enough can run Crysis 2 even better.

I'm going to need more steroids for my video cards . . . or a pair of 285s, depending on which is cheaper.

Anyone remember Crysis and how no one could run it until two years later (now)?

Yea. I remember that. 'Twas fun. Time to start the cycle again.
ugh so sick of people saying this garbage. Most people could run it fine, it was their choice not to or like most pc gamers refuse to play a game that isnt on absolutely maximum detail and like 100fps. The minimum requirements are really nothing even for 2 years ago they are pretty basic.

Im sure if its on consoles you wont need much of a PC to run it.

Those "screenshots" are probably not actual game footage. I am sure that those might be levels in the game but probably prerendered.

No HUD, no gun, and it has perfect anti-aliasing.

Don't get me wrong, the game is probably going to look about as good as that, just not that perfect! Those are prerendered promo art shots. Publicity!!!

I'm not too impressed, they're straining to make things so realistic that it's approaching uncanny valley levels. It seems awkward, although it looks nice.

Reminds me of how Yahtzee said that Crysis was designed for a future computer from outer space :)

I'm happy there's still one developer out there who is pushing hardware to its limits since no one else is.

The 5970 (which is a dual 5870) can now run Crysis maxed at 1920x1200 smoothly, so I guess it's time for another Crysis :)
This graphical advancedness also gives people a reason to keep their game for a long time, because each time they upgrade their computer or buy a new one, the game will look better.

My guess is it will be until 2012 or 2013 until you can max out Crysis 2 @ 1920x1200, but that's great cause it gives the game longevity and thus added value.

Well I have to wonder if that's just a CGI video... but considering the first game, who knows. Also, to run a game at that quality of graphics... oh man, no WAY you could play it without a $1000+ super gaming rig lol.
They're getting it to run on the PS3, so I doubt it. Although I fully expect the PC max-settings to be above that of the consoles.

I can't wait for this game.

I doubt they are just promo shots. they removed huds and took pictures of what they had. i totally believe that the graphics are THAT good.

I really don't understand all the "omfg you need a $1000+ supercomputer", even on Australian prices I'd get a decent frame rate on the original crysis for $1000 (so think $US500 ish as we get the 'fuck you Australia' expense).

OT: Those are pre-rendered promo art, it doesn't look like in game footage at all (though it is, of course, rendered in engine).

Yeah I ran Crysis on my old shit PC without much problem.

Settings weren't high but it didn't look that bad.

Didn't look as good as Half Life 2 (which was able to run at max settings) but not bad at all.

My rig can probably run it at at least medium graphics. I hope. I plan on upping my graphics soon anyways (When Nvidia releases 400 series, currently running a 260 GTX)
